14 | City Of Light: Part 1

I get out a quiet grunt as I swung my katana in front of me, slicing through the air around me. It's been a bit since I practiced, and I want to stay on top of my game for whatever comes next.

"The rover's almost charged," Bellamy stated. "We need to pack up. We'll be home soon."

I stopped and looked at Bellamy as he walked to the front of the rover.

"Then what? Run away?"Clarke asked.

"We're not running away, Clarke. We need to regroup with the others and find another way to defeat--"

"There is no other way," Clarke said, cutting Bellamy off. "We need to find a Nightblood. We need to unlock the flame. It's the only way to stop Alie."

"What do you expect us to do, Clarke?" Jasper asked from the hood of the rover. I stood beside Clarke as Octavia came and stood beside Bellamy. "Walk into random villages asking for their Nightbloods?"

Clarke nodded. "If that's what it takes."

Octavia shook her head. "No, Clarke. If Alie can find us on Luna's rig, then he can find us anywhere. I won't help you destroy another innocent grounder village."

Clarke stepped forward, speaking more quietly. "If we don't find a Nightblood, there won't be anymore grounder villages... Or a home for us to go back to."

I shook my head, butting into the conversation. "That's all the more reason we go there and make sure our friends are okay."

Clarke looked at everyone, but no one said anything, obviously agreeing with me. After a few seconds, Clarke nodded and walked passed Bellamy ad Octavia toward the woods. I let out a breath.

"She'll be fine," Jasper reassured. "Just let her cool off."

After a few seconds, Bellamy walked off to get Clarke

So... The king of Ice Nation, King Roan, has been following Clarke for an unknown amount of time. If you're wondering how I know this, it's because he's in the back of the rover. He had saved Clarke in the woods from some guy who was chipped, and of course, Bellamy doesn't trust him, so he shot him in the arm and knocked him out. He's awake now, but his hands are bound together, and he's gagged. Bellamy drove to Arkadia, stopping the rover inside the docking bay. Once the rover was off, I opened the back door and hopped out, Octavia and Clarke. Bellamy brought roan out of the rover.

"We were getting worried," Raven said, a small smile on her face when she saw us. It soon fell when she didn't see Luna with us. "Where's Luna?"

"Luna said no," I stated.

"Who the hell is this?" Harper asked, warily, looking at Roan.

We all looked at Bryan as he spoke. "He's Ice Nation."

"King of the Ice Nation, actually," Clarke corrected. "And he's our way into Polis."

"This way, Your Highness," Bellamy said to Roan before looking at Bryan and Miller. "You two, follow me. I'll take him to lock up."

The three led Roan through the Ark, leaving the rest of us. Raven looked at Clarke, realizing her plan. "You want to use him to get to Ontari."

Clarke nodded. "Yes."

"What happened to his arm?" Harper asked curiously.

"Bellamy shot him," I answered.

Monty shook his head. "Good luck getting him to cooperate."
