The Jade Creature

Chapter 4 - The Birth of a New Era

Many years had gone by since the liberation of the descendants headquarters, the Jade Creature was now wondering if there were anymore humans in the world. At this point the Jade Creature was sure that he was in his hundreds, and that he was most likely the oldest being on the planet, he wanted a home, he didn't want to be a wonderer anymore, but there was no one to help him build that home, or anyone to live in that home with him, he was alone. He was walking for a long time, so long that he had ran into a snowy upland, he had to stay in his Jade form to stay warm and to stay safe from all the great animals that roamed that area. He one day after a few weeks in the snowy uplands he stumbled upon a river, a very large river that looked like it had been abandoned for a very long time, he decided to set up camp for the night, but that decision would be his downfall. He put down his things and took a set closer to the lake with the intent to drink some of the water in it, instead, the ground he was standing on turned out to be ice, all of a sudden the weather became a huge snow storm and the ice cracked, falling down to the deepest part of the river. He tried to swim up not knowing if this depended on his life, but he felt weak and soon his eyes started to close, he passed out and couldn't wake back up. The snow storm raged on for a long long time, and the temperature dropped more and more and the Jade Creature was left submerged in the lake with no chance of escaping, after a long period of time the lake was completely frozen, puting the Jade Creature into cryosleep, for a very, very long time. Knowing what had happened to him, the Jade Creature started dreaming, but it wasn't like any dream he had ever had before no, this dream was different, he saw the same colours and lights that he saw when he was in that cave hundreds of years ago, he saw the same being that he saw right then there. And then, shortly after he heard a voice, a deep, loud voice that he had never heard before. He didn't understand at the time but many years later after learning English he than understood, the
voice said.

"Hear me human, I am what give you these gifts, I live only to serve one being, and that being is you, take these gifts, and help your world, help your people and protect them like you protected your tribe, and you will have everything you could ever have wished for."

The voice then faded away and the Jade Creature was out back into a lucid dream, he had everything he wanted, a tribe, a family, an army of protectors that he fought alongside, but he stood there knowing that he was frozen alive and that all of this would come to an end one day and he would have to live on with the sadness and loneliness that he carried for so many years, he lived in that dream for what he recalled as 326 years as the immortal Jade Creature, at least that's what it felt like to him. One day when he was sitting outside his home, he started thinking about what he would do when he got out of the ice, his vision all of a sudden started fading and the whole world around him started to disappear, right then he knew but didn't want to know, that he was out of the lucid dream. He opened his eyes only to be greeted by many men, holding what looked like advanced spears and wearing metal armour with red feathers, the Jade Creature immediately changed form and stood up, the men around him instantly showing fear, he asked politely in his language what was happening, the men didn't answer, he asked again with a more aggressive tone, then was nothing but confusion around the circle. He got fed up and grabbed one of the men's spears and swung him around in a circle, knocking all of the surrounding men down, he then ran and tried to find out what had happened in the time that he was gone, maybe there was someone that he could consult to acquire the needed knowledge, all of a sudden he saw buildings, but not the kind of buildings that someone would normally have seen in him tine no, bigger buildings made of stone, housing what looked like about five people in each one. He saw more of the same dressed men running after him so he turned to another direction that went even deeper into the city, he saw markets but not the markets of his time no, huge markets filled with things he had never seen before, food, weapons, clothing everything. He kept running, all the people around him started to gasp in fear and confusion as they looked at the Jade Creature for the first time. He was eventually surrounded, even though he knew that he could easily take all of the men down, he surrendered, because he wanted to find out who these people were and how long exactly he was in the ice. They aimed their weapons at him and escorted him to what looked like a stone settlement, at least that's what the Jade Creature said to himself . He was taken inside and saw a man, he was sitting on a throne with multiple servants around him with fans, he had red robes and a leaf crown around his head. Again he spoke to him in an unknown language that the Jade Creature did not understand. This made the Jade Creature want to learn the language, hoping he could converse and understand the people easier, he used some hand movements to indicate that he couldn't speak their tongue and did his best to insist on being given texts that he could learn from, the man on the chair agreed because he wanted to know who this man, and where his powers and abilities came from. He was given a teacher and a book that had pictures of multiple words and pictures of the objects next to them. The Jade Creature spent a long time learning and studying that language that these people spoke, he was growing more and more curious on who that man was that he saw on that throne. After about 4 years the Jade Creature was pretty much fluent in their language, he demanded a meeting with the man he saw on the throne, hoping to find out who he was and who these people were. He walked into a room where he saw the same person standing at a balcony, he walked up to him and greeted him. He turned around with his head held high and did the same thing, he invited him to stand at the balcony with him and they soon began their conversation.
