All dressed up and somewhere to go, Luke and I bounce off the stairs to go to the kitchen, discussing a new way to introduce the teens of the pack into pack work.

My stomach growls, Luke laughs, evidently he got a hit to the back of his head.

"Now I'm not making you any coffee. So now you will suffer from coffee withdrawal today" he says, sticking his tongue out.

"Well, fortunately for me, I have hands and know how to work a kettle."

His face falls only a little bit with the sudden intelligence I gave him. I stand in the kitchen, my eyes meeting the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I froze and slowly walk towards it, reaching out, but not yet touching. When all of the sudden, a massive hand grabs the apple and takes a big bite out of it.

I growl at Luke, who is happily chomping on my apple. My beautiful apple!

"I get you back for that. Maybe I'll put you on weapon cleaning duty, oh how I know how you love doing that. Oh wait, you love cleaning, so maybe I'll get you to clean the grounds a bit," I make myself some coffee, making a thinking face, "maybe you should go cut the grass and babysit a bit. Yes, Martha would love a bit of time off."

Luke sighs and throws the apple to my head, which I calmly catch and taking a bite out of, smiling at Luke's demise.

Someone clears their throat, both Luke and I turn to find one of the members of The Guard.

To clarify, The Guard, is almost like a council within the pack. They are the ones who trained me to be the best alpha. They taught me how to fight, murder, plan and seduce.

Yeah, I said seduce. When I became alpha, I came to inherit a bit of magic. It was a shock to all, a wizard came to help me develop it a little and somehow part of all that training was seducing. I learned how to seduce men, witches, rocks, ants and even trees. It helps immensely when the crops at the farms are struggling.

Kevin, the one with a lot of phlegm in his throat apparently, pulls my from my thoughts.

"Alexis, please join earth again, I know school sucks, but you still have to go. You are only 17 and need the education", Kevin continues as if I really listened to what he says.

I sip my coffee and munch on my apple. Staring at Kevin and Luke, while they stare at me. I nod for Kevin to say what he actually came here to say and not just lecture about us going to school.

"Alpha Walen is coming this afternoon after school. Luke, you must attend of course, and Alexis, I would you to join in if you can. It is about the ball that is next month."

"Oh yeah, I forgot that there is a special ball, that luckily falls on the same day as my truly, stunning alpha", Luke replies with somewhat of a sass.

Finishing up my coffee and apple, I check my makeup in the microwave and put a little lip gloss on.

"We'll be there, but look at the time, Kevin. We are going to be late for school and it is all your fault. Oh how the one who preaches struggles to actually do what they preach.", I grab Luke's arm and dash out the door before Kevin can sass me.

I am certain my pack is just full of sassy people and one idiot beta.
