vingt - six!

Luke finally arrives with Zeph, Hunter still holding onto me.

"Took you guys long enough. The guy started healing a bit when you left. So I decided to speed up the process and taught Hunter how to heal his family."

Hunter kisses my forehead in appreciation that I said family and not pack of rogues.

"Well, who knew an Alpha could teach a rogue some tricks," Luke says, "Brad is nearly back, might want to drop the PDA."

I nod and stand up out of the comfort of Hunter's arms, pulling him up so that he also stands.

"Soooo," Zeph says in a sing-sing tone, "What are you doing here, Hunter?"

"Uh, so we were just travelling around and decided to come back home, when we suddenly just got surrounded by wolves. We fought and mostly everyone of my pack got away, only Dennis here got so badly hurt that I needed Alexis' help."

"Where is 'home'?" chimes Brad in as he walks through the door.

"Oh you know, wherever we feel like it."

Brad growls a bit, noticing how close Hunter and I are standing.

"Alexis, contain your dog," Hunter says before checking up on his pack member. Brad lunges at him, tackling him to the ground.

"Mind taking it outside? Other people still might need to live here" Luke pulls Brad with a struggle off of Hunter. Hunter only smirks, knowing perfectly that's how Brad would react.

"I'm leaving. I'll call you tomorrow, Lexi" Brad huff, grabbing my waist and kissing me a bit to harshly before he leaves.

"Well, I had enough excitement for the day. See you around bestie." Zeph waves Hunter goodbye and skips out the door.

Almost in sync, Hunter, Luke and I sigh.

"I'm going back to my only mate, thank goodness I only have one. Imagine having two wolves with raging hormones. Oh wait." Luke says jokingly. I slap him at the back of his head and he leaves, laughing.

"Famous Alpha Brad can't handle sharing. Duly noted."

I rub my face and walk away from him, going to my bedroom.

"Wait, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude."

"Yeah, whatever." I mumbled, Hunter quickly following me upstairs.

"I mean my apology. It's not nice having to share a mate. I get the guy."

I stop midway and turn to look at him.

"Imagine how difficult it is for me. Constantly missing both of you, having not one of you near me. It's tearing me apart."

"Hey," he takes my hand, kissing my knuckles, "it will get easier." He pulls me in for a hug and I rest my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

"Why did you come here?"

"Because I needed help and I needed to see you again. I just didn't know Brad was staying over, otherwise I wouldn't have come."

"I'm glad you came. Crappy timing, but extremely happy you are here."

He kisses the top of my head before picking me up bridal style and taking me to my room. He puts me on my bed before laying next to me.

"I'm here now, not letting you go."

We cuddle and snuggle until the morning comes. We both fell asleep after a few minutes of laying in complete silence.

Waking up, I turn to check the time, seeing that I only slept for an hour. I turn to face Hunter, taking in his very presence next to mine. My eyes feeling heavy and not soon after I fall back asleep.

Opening my eyes, looking around my room, seeing its still dark, I look at the time. It's only 2 am. I checked the time like 3 hours ago. Probably, I'm not sure. Might have been a dream.

Pulling my blanket higher up, I close my eyes and go right back to sleep.

I jump awake as if I just had a nightmare. Looking at the time, 3:30 am. I slept for an hour and a half? Am I dreaming or can I just not sleep?

Hunter turns and his arm hooks around my waist. He pulls me closer and snuggles in.

I'm afraid to fall asleep, but Hunter's calming demeanor made me less afraid and more tired.

The cycle continued the whole time, I wake up more often, the time ticking painfully slow.

I'm pretty sure it's now 5 am and I'm not going to sleep. Not anymore. I had enough sleep and woke up enough times.
