Luke straighten his back and puts on his serious face. I am so thankful for Luke, without him, we would have a lot of drama.

Kevin opens the door and makes small talk to Alpha Walen and his entourage. Luke greets them sternly and invites them in.

Alpha Walen runs The Ways pack. The strongest and meanest pack. I don't mean "mean" like murderously mean, more like stern mean. If Luke wasn't part of my pack, he would be perfect there.

"This is Alexis, my girlfriend," I hear Luke say, pulling me from my thoughts.

I put on a smile, and greet the alpha and he introduces me to his entourage.

"I apologize, but my youngest son also came along, he didn't behave so I got stuck with him. Alexis, may I ask you to maybe keep him company whilst we talk?"

Luke lets out a small growl, I squeeze his hand as it is not the first time alphas shoo'd me away. I kiss Luke's cheek. Saying nothing as I walk past them, listening to the conversation.

Outside I see two guys, a guy around my age and a guy who seems about 6 years old. I listen into their conversation. The younger guy begs his brother to explore the land, but the older guy disagrees and tries to pull him to the pack house.

I clear my throat and smile when they look at me. Not being able to attend meetings, I learned to get creative with the people alphas bring along.

"I can show you guys around. Don't worry about getting into any trouble. Stick with me and nothing could go wrong." I walk away slowly, giving them a chance to decide.

The younger guy pulls away from his brother and follows me, running slightly. The older guy hesitates and stare at the pack house and slowly jogs to walk beside me.

"I'm Lexi. Well, actually Alexis, but please call me Lexi," I turn to look at them both.

"Well I'm Peter and this is my big brother Brad. He is boring and soon to become the alpha. I know my dad told you I misbehaved and that's why I am tagging along, but in all fairness I just want to meet this packs alpha. He seems pretty cool and mysterious."

Peter rambles on about the adventure he wants, until I just hear a muffled sound. I look to see that Brad covered him mouth.

"Hey, that's enough little guy. Alexis is being nice enough to show us around, so don't talk her ear off."

I stop and they both follow suit.

"Lexi. Call me Lexi. He can talk my ear off, he reminds me of my best friend. Just don't call me Alexis, that is more annoying than any rambling."

Brad smiles and nods, saying my nickname, testing the waters. Peter giggles and sings my nickname is a song he makes up on the spot. We continue our walk, talking about everything and laughing at Peter's silly remarks and stories.
