Luke's P.O.V.

Alexis leaves with the rogues, disappearing into the forest. I gulp and turn to face the guards, fisting my hand with Alexis' ring in it.

"Remove your pack rings, that's the only way we can help Alpha Alex right now."

A guard asks why they need to take off the ring. I look at them, remembering when I got my ring.

"So this ring will contain Alexis' magical powers, but it will also weaken her bond with the pack and also her wolf. This ring must only be removed when it is necessary" says the wizard that came to train Alexis.

Alexis just became alpha of the pack and got some magical powers as well, which is super cool!

The wizard slides on the ring on my finger. Patting my hand and turns to Alexis, smiling and then puts a similar ring on her finger.

"Every pack member should wear one, as every member will carry some of her power. Her power will only be available when connected with someone else wearing the ring. If she removes her ring, she will become human, she won't have her wolf or any magical powers. If everyone removes their rings with her, she will become the strongest wolf and the most powerful wizard. Thus no one should remove their rings unless it is absolutely necessary."

The wizard continues to warn us about the ring and her powers. We are told that when the rings are presented to the pack it will be known as a symbol of acceptance and strength of the pack.

Without telling the guards the reason, I remove my pack ring, sighing and look up seeing all the guards remove theirs. I hold out my hand to take them. They place their rings inside my hand and disperses to collect the rest of the packs rings.

I tell the last guard to bring the rings to the study, he nods and leaves. I walk up into the pack house and to Alexis' study.

Calling Brad and the King Alpha. Brad saying he will be right over and one of the King's staff said she'll carry the message over.

While waiting around, I sit and chew my nails with nerves. I hope Alexis knows what she is doing.

Alexis P.O.V.

I walk next to Hunter, making a mental map of the path we walked. I cannot believe I have another mate. How is that possible!?

Is it a sick joke or was fate pranking me?

We stop at a cliff and the rogues spread out and start making themselves at home. They are all in their wolf form. I guess it's for safety.

"I never thought I had a mate, you know?" Hunter begins, "when I was little I always wanted someone who I can share my life with, but then I got older and realised you only need yourself."

I raise a brow at him and sit near the edge of the cliff, Hunter does the same, sitting almost against me.

"If you only need yourself, why do you have so many wolves following you?"

"I never said I didn't need help."

"May I ask how you became a rogue?"

He snorts and turns to look at me.

"Oh you see when I was born, my parents didn't want me to be in their pack. Not like to be mean or just discard me. No, they sent me away for training. You see, I was the first born of an Alpha. So that means I was next in line. I wasn't lucky like you to have people come to my home to teach me, my parents sent me to the best of the best."

He smirks and sees I'm listening before he continues.

"I was 16 when I heard, my father passed away. Someone shot him and someone else became Alpha of that pack. It sucked because even though it was my rightful spot, I wasn't announced as Alpha. So whoever killed him became alpha. My mom forgot about me and ran away from the sadness. She committed suicide, so I became an orphan, the Alpha school kicked me out, because I have no reason to stay, I couldn't go back to the pack, because no one knew me so I became a rogue."

He looks at the scene in front of us. His story made sense and I realised which pack he actually belonged to. He was suppose to be Alpha and not me.
