Night time comes along and the rogues have shifted into humans again, somehow they have clothes on and they started a bonfire.
I haven't moved from my spot. After Hunter told me the story and let me stew in realisation, he got up and managed his rogue pack. I stare at the moon, deciding to mind link Luke.
"I am safe. We aren't far from the pack, I assume we will be leaving this spot tomorrow."
Luke doesn't respond. I furrow my brows and feel my wolf sleeping peacefully. So Luke has all the rings, so why isn't he responding?
A hand is set on my shoulder and I snuggle into it. Feeling comfort from my mate.
"We are leaving now."
I get up and turn to Hunter. His expression is blank as he takes my hand, almost as if ignoring our mate bond.
We start walking alongside the cliff. Hunter and I in front, the footsteps get less and less behind us. I try to turn around, but Hunter doesn't let me.
He stops and stand in front of me, holding me still by my shoulders.
"I know I gave you nothing to make you trust me, but right now I need you to trust me."
He stares deeply into my eyes, pushing the hair out of my face, cupping my cheek, taking in every little detail of my face.
I nod in agreement to trust him. His face is closer to mine right now, I close my eyes hoping he would kiss me. He breathes softly against my lips, he is so close too kiss me, when he pushes me off the cliff.
My eyes shoot open as I fall down, Hunter smiling at me before he dives down the cliff.
This must be some sort of evil idea of keeping me to himself. The ultimate death.Hunter reaches for me, pulling me close and smushes his lips against mine, deepening the kiss without hesitation. My fingers find their way to his hair, grabbing fists full of his hair.
In this moment, as we fall, nothing seems more perfect. Even if we fall to our death, I am with my mate.
Hunter kisses down to my neck, finding the perfect spot for his mark. He stops and kisses it softly before we both land on our feet.
Shocked, I look down, seeing fluffy wet grass beneath our feet. I reach down and touch it almost afraid to fall through the grass. It's real. Real grass!
I giggle and lay down on the grass, rolling around, smelling sweet nature. I lay on my stomach to examine the grass more when I spot a little lady bug. I reach for it, but it flies away.
Laughter brings me out of my little giddy moment. I stand up to see a few people forming a circle around me and Hunter.
I know they are rogues, but they look nothing like malicious, murderous werewolves I've learned about. Their faces are full of color and everyone looks healthy.
"Guys, this is Alexis. Alpha of the Moonsky pack and also my mate. Treat her kindly and fairly."
The rogues nod and closes the circle, inspecting me and gushing over my hair and eyes. I notice Hunter slip out of the circle before he gets squashed like me. He smiles and enters a small wooden cabin.
I turn my attention to the people around me, they start asking a lot of questions and I start to answer it.
I answer questions until the sun comes up. Everyone is still excited by my presence and treats me like one of their own. They make me feel at home.
Hunter decided to join us an hour ago, asking questions of his own, which I gladly answer. I wasn't shy with questions of my own. Everyone was super nice and friendly.
I learned that no title makes a pack, only the bond it carries and I treasured their meaning of a pack.
