Eren and Levi treated me like a maid just now! Mop the bathroom floor, clean the counter, and now I have to-
"Jesus Murphy," I gasped as I entered Shiloh's room. It was a pigsty! Clothes all over the floor, food wrappers scattered across the bedspread, and underwear.
Hanging from the ceiling fan.
"Um," I called, "hey, guys! I need help!"
"Lazy!" Connie yelled, and I scoffed unnecessarily loud.
"Shiloh can beat you at wrestling!"
"Shut up!"
"What do you nee-" Hanji stopped mid-sentence and sucked air in through her teeth.
"You've been here for, what, less than two weeks?" she said, looking around.
"I'm going to throttle her when she get's back. She should've been back a long time ago!" I grumbled, picking up a sock.
Shiloh
"Woo!" I said, shivering. "If it get's any colder, my eyes will freeze over like in that movie!"
"W-what, Lampoon's Family Vacation?" he asked, and I nodded. He threw an arm around me. He was far past sober, and we were heading back to the car.
"Hey, um," Armin whispered, "sorry for earlier."
We arrived at the car and got in as fast as we could.
I rubbed my hands together to generate heat as Armin turned the car on and cranked up the heat.
"Crap." I muttered. It was already 8:30, and the apartment was a few hours away!
"Ah, well. It can't be helped."
The first half hour of the ride was super awkward. I ended up hooking my phone so that it would play music, and we listened to Taylor Swift for the rest of the ride.
Just as Blank Space came to an end, we pulled into the parking lot. My phone vibrated in my back pocket and I cursed.
'Call from HQ...'
"Can I take this?" I asked, and Armin nodded. I answered it as a voice call rather than a video call so that Armin wouldn't hear.
"Agent Rain, this is urgent."
"Yes, sir?" It was my boss.
"The Russian end of our agency is getting impatient. If your so called "manipulative skills" have yet to work, you'll need to use force."
"Yes, sir, but it's barely been a day and-"
"You've been there fora bit over a week?"
"Yes, but-"
"Then what's the problem?"
"I need time!"
"That is the soul thing that we don't have."
"So, you want me to speed things up?"
"Yes, precisely."
I paused, and looks at Armin. Sweet, sweet, innocent Armin. Perfect.
"I'll do my best."
He hung up.
"Hey, Armin?" I said, sliding my arm behind my back to rest on my back.
"Yeah?" he turned the car off.
"Switch places with me." I grabbed my knife from my belt loop.
"But we're already here! Look, the flat is right-"
I held the knife up towards him, and he cowered backwards.
"Do. It. Now."
Eren
I hummed along to my music, when my ear buds were ripped out of my ear. I turned around and saw Kaniss crying her eyes out.
"They're gone?"
"Wait, what?"
"Who?" Levi insisted, who had been sitting right beside me, doing work on his laptop. We ran into the living room where Hanji, Erwin, Sasha, Connie, and Marco were already waiting. They all had their phones out, all splayed with the same message.
'I warned you...'
The TV turned on abruptly, and everyone but Levi jumped.
"Hello again. You may have noticed that your friends, Shiloh and Armin, were to be back two hours ago. Well, I'm here to tell you that they won't be coming back any time soon."
I gasped. No...
I made the wrong choice.
"Eren, you're the only one who can save them now. I told you I would get you, didn't I?"
Sasha's eyes were wide with fear. Of course, she wasn't here when we received the first warning.
"Where is my cousin?" she yelled, and I was just about to tell her that the Agent couldn't hear her when she replied.
"Ah, that's the thing, Sasha. You'll never get it out of moi."
"Give them back!" I yelled, and Rain chuckled.
"Not until you've given yourself up, Jaeger. But, if you really wanna know where they've gone, I can help you."
Hope sparked within me as she continued.
"There is an agent in the room with you." We all looked around, and she laughed out loud. "No, no, they're not hiding, they're among you." How did she know that we were looking around? And among us?
"Find out who it is, and they might just give you the answer. But, to that individual, if you're found out, don't get caught, I'll send backup. And if you do give yourself up, he'll die.
"Agent Rain, signing off."
