Dear Diary,
Today was one of those awesome, but sad days.
This morning I was late for school. Mainly because of my sister Lynne. She is my ride to school, and she took forever. I was suppose to be there before the bell to Secret Santa Syd, but since I knew that wasn't going to happen, we just stopped by Syd's house on the way to school.
When we got to his house I noticed no one was there, so I just left it on his porch. As Lynne and I started to pull out of the driveway, Jace (Syd's dad) drove up, and he saw me. I told Lynne to stop the car so I could talk to him. All I told him, was that I was never there, and the stuff on the porch was for Syd. He just laughed and said okay.
When I ran into band class no one really even noticed that I was late, except Syd and Brooke. I got all my stuff ready as fast as I could. By the time I was ready to play, there was a test being passed around. It was a music terms test, and boy was I glad that I had studied for it! For the rest of the class we didn't even end up playing our instruments, which made me really mad!
The rest of the day went by pretty smoothly. There was an assembly during the end of school, but I skipped out. My friends texted me telling me that I was missing out. It turns out two girls ended up smashing head, and one got a horrible bruise, and the other got a minor concussion, and 4 stitches in her eyebrow. While all this was happening I was at home, eating. But I don't regret not going!
After the assembly was over I walked over to Syd's house to hang before we went to a movie for seminary. It was suppose to be Mae, Syd and me hanging, but Mae had to do papers. So Syd, and I sat downstairs and talked while his little sister Elle sat and listened. Elle is pretty cute for a 9 year old, but sometimes she can be really annoying!
We then went to see Meet the Mormons, and we met Mae there. We also ended up sitting with Mike and Brooke. The movie was pretty good, even though it was my second time watching it.
After it was over, Mae had to go home and finish papers, while Syd, Brooke and I went to his house. Brooke had to go there to find out how to take care of Syd's cats while they were gone, and I just tagged along.
When we got there I talked to Jen (Syd's 16 year old sister), Jace and Syd for a little while. After Brooke figured out everything, me and her walked home.
When I got home I tried to finish all my Christmas letters for my friends. It had been taking forever! I was close to being done when Syd texted me and asked if I wanted to go over there to hang and probably watch a movie. I got my dad to give me a ride. When I got to his house, Jace let me in and said, "I've seen a lot of you today." And then winked. I laughed and then went into the kitchen to find Syd and Mae.
We talked for a while, and then went upstairs and watch The Planet of The Apes! It was a lot better then I thought it was going to be. Close to the end of the movie Mae and her siblings had to leave. Jen followed them to the door to say goodbye and left Syd and I to watch the movie.
After the movie finished Syd and I went downstairs and talked while we waited for my mom to pick me up. I didn't want to leave knowing he would be gone for a week. When my mom showed up, I said bye, and we gave each other a hug. It was the first one I had ever given him. He smelt amazing and I didn't want to let go, but I had to leave.
On my way home my mom said I smelt different. It kind of scared me at first, because I thought maybe Syd's cologne had rubbed onto me. But then she told me I smelt like essential oils. I had been laying on Syd's grandma's temporary bed, and she loves using essential oils for everything!
I haven't been able to fall asleep since I've gotten home. So I finally finished all the letters, I just have to put them in envelopes and then deliver them! It's now almost two o'clock in the morning, so I should probably be headed to bed.
Good night Diary,
~ Joy
