Dear Diary,
This morning I woke up at 9. My dad didn't have to go to work, so my family was planning on going to Calgary or Kalispel for the next 2 days. I did not want to go. I hadn't seen Sydney yet since he had gotten back from Arizona.
Our plans change, and we ended up staying in Cardston. I convinced my parents to invite a couple family's to come over. We invited Syd's family, Mae's family, my cousins family, and a non-Mormon family.
In preparation I had to help clean the whole house, and go shopping for food with my brother. We got back from grocery shopping at 1:30, and as soon as I got inside I realized I hadn't eaten anything yet. So I quickly made some brunch and finished cleaning.
We ended up playing volleyball at the gym for the first two hours when the people came over, but Lynne and I had to leave early to make dinner, because we were in charge of it. The thing we decided to make that would be quick, and would feed five families, was crêpes. I burnt myself a couple of times when we were making them.
After we finished eating, we played card games. Syd, Mae, Lynne, Jen, Hailey, (Mae's 18 year old sister,) and I played scum. I swear whenever I play that game I am always either King or Queen. After that we played this game called The Game of Things. It where someone picks up a card that says something like, "things you wouldn't do at a funeral," and then u have to answer it on a piece of paper and hand it to the person that picked up the card. Then we all have to try and guess who wrote what. It is pretty fun! One of them was, "things that are non of your business". I was so tempted to put, "when it's someone else's 'time of the month'". Too bad Syd was there, or I probably would have.
When it was the for everyone to leave, I still hadn't got my welcome back hug from Syd. I went to give him a hug, but I knew it would be awkward for him if I did it in front of his parents. So I decided not to, but I did get a hug from his little sister, Elle, but we all call her Bug. I love Bug, she is so cute! Sometimes she can be annoying, but everyone is like that.
After everyone left I texted Syd. We started talking about stuff that we usually do, and we told story's about what people say about us.
Like when Rob's friend Pam was talking to me. She asked me if I was dating someone, and I said no. But she knew I liked someone, so she asked me if I've kissed him, or at least cuddled with him. I just laughed and said that I hadn't, but I had snuggled with Bug and Syd's mom when I was watching a movie at his house.
After that he brought something up that caught me off guard. He asked me if I like anyone else, and I said no. So I asked him, and he said he still kind of like the girl he had liked before me. That kind of hurt. But he went on to explain that you never really get over a crush, and I guess that is true. I still have minor crushes on my past crushes, but only because I know so much about them. He did tell me he likes me the most, and that's all that really matters to me! So I'm not going to worry about it.
Good night Diary,
~ Joy
