She stood for a minute, staring at the wreckage she had caused. It felt nice at the moment, but now she had to clean it up. She grimaced, then went to go get a broom. As she walked over, she felt her phone buzz in her pocket. She dug it out and leaned against the wall. Seven had started texting in the chat again.
707: I think it would be best if we were all on guard from now on.
Jaehee: I can agree with that.
Jumin: As can I.
Yoosung: Yep!
707: And MC, I think you should stay in the apartment from now on.
I have work to go to.
707: It's not as important as your safety.
I don't think you understand how important my job is.
707: MC, stop. Stop arguing with me. This is serious. Why can't you wrap your head around that?
Zen: Hey, don't you think that's a little rude?
707: She's not listening, and she's going to get herself killed.
I know more than you think, Seven.
It's about time you listened to me.
707: ...
707: If I see that you left, I'm going to physically go out and find you.
Then, he left.
Jaehee: Mr. Han, I think you have a meeting to go to.
Jumin: Good. I couldn't stand the energy in here anyways.
They both left, too.
Zen: As much as I'd like to stay, I think I'm going to go call Seven and try to knock some sense into him.
Zen left.
Yoosung: So uhm;
Sorry, Yoosung.
Yoosung: It's okay, MC, I promise!
You don't have to put up with that. If it makes you uncomfortable, you can leave.
Yoosung: Who said I was uncomfortable?
I'm uncomfortable and I was the one who started the fight.
Yoosung: Why do you always assume that about me?
Suddenly, V entered the chat.
V: Oh dear.
V, hello.
V: I'll make this quick so I'm not butting in.
V: The party will be held in one week.
Yoosung: HUH!?
That's... going to be tricky.
V: I don't have any doubt that you won't be able to do it :)
Yoosung: Still- Don't you think she should have more time?
V: The party will be her first, and therefore smaller. It makes sense.
Yoosung: That doesn't mean that it'll take less effort!
Yoosung, don't fight my battles for me. You're not thinking.
Yoosung: I'm not thinking?
V left, but they both ignored it.
Yoosung: You've done nothing but imply I'm a child ever since you joined.
Yoosung: I'm done talking for the night.
Yoosung left, leaving MC in the chatroom all by herself.
She blinked a few times, then locked her phone. She sniffled, then stuck it back in her pocket.
"This wasn't supposed to happen." She whispered. She grabbed the broom, but just held it. She held it out in front of her and stared at it. A tear ran down her cheek, prompting her to start quietly sobbing. She was so glad that Seven couldn't see her.
She took a deep breath in, then wiped her eyes on her sleeve. She stood up straight, then walked back into the kitchen, intending to clean up her mess. That's what a spy does best, right?
---
Maybe the bowl was a metaphor, she thought as she laid in bed that night. Maybe the bowl was my life, and I just shattered it.
She assumed it would take everyone a very long time to calm down. And she would have to apologize. But... She didn't want to. She was right. She was being underestimated.
On the other hand, she did something drastic to show her power. Something she didn't have to do. She can't control how others react, she should've thought about the future for longer.
She rolled onto her side and looked at her phone. Should she call Seven? Explain everything? She'd rather not over the phone, she really wouldn't. She bit her lip, then decided she had to. Even if it wasn't ideal.
She dialed his number, then sat up. She held her breath as she listened to it ring.
Ring ring,
Ring ring,
Ring ring,
Ring ring,
Ring ring-
"Yo, apparently I can't take your call. Leave a message pwease~" She heard his voice say from the other end. It was voicemail.
She heard the beep, but she didn't hang up. She had to say something.
"Hey, Seven, I..." Suddenly, her whole demeanor changed. "Have an idea. Ignore this."
She hit "end call", then set her phone back down. Zen's not mad right now, right? Zen knows Seven's address, right? Zen's a chill guy, right?
She could hack Seven's security, right?
(A/N: None of these past few chapters have broken a thousand words lol- next chapter will have more [prolly]).
