She spent the majority of the next day working on party things. She had picked out a venue and a caterer, and was discussing the plans with Jaehee.
"How are we going to pay for this?" MC asked as she scrolled on her computer. She was sitting scrunched up and chewing on her pen, the phone on speaker.
"Either V or Mr. Han will take care of the expenses, I assume... Oh hang on, look in the chat."
MC picked up her phone and looked at the notifications. "Oh, look at that... I think I'm going to hang up and check that out."
"Me, too." Jaehee agreed. "I can call you again some other time to finish discussions."
"Thanks for helping me, by the way. I know you're busy."
"Really, I should be thanking you. It's an excuse to relax a little more, and Jumin will excuse it." MC could practically hear Jaehee smile.
"It cancels out, I'm sure. Bye, Jaehee." MC said happily. Jaehee returned the phrase and hung up. MC tapped on the notification and looked at the chat.
707: Problem!
707: Problem!
707: There's a problem!
707: AAAAA!
Zen: Stop hogging the chat, Seven.
707: This is important!
Zen: Just say what it is;;
707: Bomb!
Zen: Huh?
707: In her apartment! MC is living on a bomb!
Zen: WHAT?!
707: Mhm! It's not going to go off, but it's totally active again!!
707: I deactivated it a loooong time ago!
Zen: Well what are you going to do??
707: Deactivate it, of course.
707: It'll be a few days, I think, but it shouldn't be that bad.
Zen: When would it explode!?
707: If there's an intruder? But the problem is that this is unexpected;;
707: So no one knows for sure what's going to happen.
Zen: I hope everything's going to be okay;
707: Yep! In fact, I'm going to go try to fix it now.
Zen: If you're going, I should go too.
They both left.
MC sat, staring at the screen. A bomb? There was a problem and she didn't cause it? That's strange...
Any reasonable person would be more scared. MC was a little shaken, but in her experience bombs get diffused if they're known about. Maybe her department was just skilled, but bombs have never been something to fear.
That in mind, she had to call Seven.
"Hey." She said.
"Did you read the chat??" He responded suddenly.
"Yeah, that's what I wanted to talk about." She explained, leaning back in her chair again.
"You shouldn't leave the house. For real this time. It could kill you!"
"I know what bombs do, Sevvy."
Seven was quiet for a moment. "... You're calling me that again?" He asked slightly sheepishly.
She hummed in response. He chortled. "That's no way to respond to this situation... Aren't you scared?"
"A little shaken, but... Bombs can be diffused."
"Of course, but this bomb is right under you! It's more terrifying than say... A bomb threat at your school!"
"I know... Hey, uh, I called to ask if I could help in any way."
"What?"
"I want to help." She said again, slightly annoyed. Oh no, is he-
"I thought I told you not to put yourself in danger again." He is.
"I just want to help! I feel like I could be useful!" She reiterated. "I thought you'd get it that I'm not so helpless!"
"I don't want you getting hurt." He stated. "So just stay inside, okay? If you leave, you could be blown to bits."
She scowled, though Seven couldn't see. "Fine. I'll handle things myself."
"MC, wait!"
"What."
"Oh, I thought you'd hang up." He admitted.
"Should I?"
"No! Listen, don't do anything stupid."
"Wise words. I have to go." She deflected. Seven muttered a goodbye, and she hung up.
She sat up and stretched her back. First things first: How fast can she get into the agency's bomb database?
