Seven honked the horn as MC walked down the sidewalk towards the car. She laughed and started walking faster.
"Someone might think you're harassing me!" She told him as she climbed into the car, dropping her bag on the floor by her feet.
"Do you feel harassed?" He asked as she buckled her seatbelt.
"Nah."
"Then it can't be that bad." He joked.
She nodded. "I suppose... So, where are we off to?"
"I didn't think that far." He admitted as he started to drive. "I was hoping you would have an idea."
"Well, you're out of luck."
"Hm, okay..."
"I know this isn't inherently romantic, but what if we just pick up stuff from a gas station and go somewhere with it?" She suggested.
"You know what? We can do that." He agreed. "I guess I have a place in mind."
"Where?"
He put a finger to his lips," That's a secret~"
"You're not kidnapping me, are you?" She joked, "I've had enough of that."
He snapped his fingers. "Shucks, there goes my plans."
She fake-frowned. "Sorry."
"We're at the gas station," He announced, "So just pick up some food and stop ruining my day!"
"I'll ruin your day if I want to, Sevvy." She said with a smile as she walked inside.
---
"This is it." Seven announced as he parked the car.
"A beach?" She asked, looking up from her phone. "I didn't bring a swimsuit or anything..."
"You don't have to swim at a beach," He got out and over to open her door for her, "You can just hang out."
"I've never done that before," She said as she climbed out. "And thank you."
"You're welcome." He smiled. He turned and got up onto the hood of the car, patting the metal next to him. MC smiled and climbed up. It wasn't comfortable, but the point isn't really comfort when you're on top of a car like that.
He handed her the food she had bought, and she opened it. "Y'know, Seven, I didn't really get a good look at what you got."
"I got Ph.D. Pepper and Honey Buddha Chips, of course." He explained as he opened the bag. "It's a perfect combination, made by God Himself."
"Honestly, I'd have to disagree."
"HUH?"
"I mean, Ph.D. Pepper is fine, but Honey Buddha Chips are literally like eating a stale croissant that someone dipped in honey!"
"And you don't like that??"
"It freaks me out!" She exclaimed, holding her hands up in defense," If I wanted to eat a croissant, I would!"
"I don't think this relationship is going to work out." He joked.
"Noo!" She grabbed his arm dramatically," I can learn to love them, Seven! Take me back!"
They both laughed for a minute, then went back to eating. They weren't on a beach that overlooked the ocean, but rather a lake. It was strange to sit at the edge of a beach and be able to see right across it, but maybe that assurance was what she needed right now. It was early, so no one was there but them. She liked being able to just sit with Seven and see what the end goal could be, and not have to fight him about it.
"Hey, MC?" He asked suddenly.
"Mhm?" She had just taken a bite of her food.
"Can you call me Saeyoung from now on?"
"Where'd you get that name from?" She asked.
"My mom." He explained. "Luciel is my baptismal name, 707 is my hacker name... And Saeyoung is just me."
She nodded slowly in understanding. "Definitely. I understand that."
"Thank you." He smiled. "I like knowing that we have this connection."
"We have a lot of connections." She said as she put her garbage into her bag. She hopped off the hood of the car and walked onto the beach, staring towards the other side of the lake.
Saeyoung followed her. "What'cha looking at?"
"Oh, whatever. Something. Anything..." She looked down and immediately saw something interesting. "Hey, look. This rock looks exactly like your eyes!"
She held it up to his face and took a picture to show him. He looked down at the phone and nodded. "Yeah, that's a weird coincidence."
"You can have this," She placed the rock into his hand. "As a gift."
He smiled at her, then looked back at the phone. "We should head back and change." He said as he handed back her phone.
"Oh, really? It's been that long already?" She asked, checking for herself.
"Sadly."
"Well, we can always come back." She assured him (and herself).
As soon as they got into the car, Saeyoung started talking again. "Hey, uh, can we try to get my brother back?"
She looked over at him. "That was sudden..."
"So, no?"
"Of course we can! I just... Don't know when I'll have time?"
"When we have time." He reached over and grabbed her hand. "I'm not going to push you away anymore."
She smiled at him. "Stop being so sappy, we have a party to get to."
"Roger, that."
