The attacker walked out, and the door lock clicked. That didn't matter, though, because she was already inside. She waited for a few minutes, then opened the vent and stuck her head through.
"Seven, are you still out?" She whispered.
He looked up slowly, then started scanning the room. Eventually, his eyes locked on hers, and his face turned to surprise. "MC?"
She smiled, then dropped down. She walked behind him then started looking at the knot.
"How'd you get up there?" He asked quietly.
"I was in that chair, too. I used it for leverage." She explained as she dug out her knife. "Did you happen to catch how you got here?"
"Uh, kidnapping? I was knocked out."
"Yeah, okay." She dug the knife into the rope and started cutting. "I was kidnapped, too. You don't look too beat up, though."
"It was an injection."
"I was choked." The knife broke free of the rope, loosening Seven's restraints. "Only a few more and you should be fine-"
She felt a sharp pain shoot through her head, causing her to cry out. Her knife was kicked out of her hand and she grabbed at it, noticing the scraped skin from the impact.
"Stop getting in my way." The attacker hissed. She spun around, then swung a punch at him. He ducked and hit her in the side. She stumbled, but used the distance to try to get a grip on the situation. The man inched closer, and she hit him in the leg with a quick kick. He yelped, then ran up to her.
He tried to punch her, but she ducked and grabbed his arm, pulling him to the ground. She tried to get back to Seven, but the man grabbed her leg and pulled her down. She hit the floor hard and winced.
He climbed over on top of her and reached for her neck, but she kneed him in the gut and quickly stood up, finding herself standing right next to the window.
The man noticed this and stood up, his knees almost buckling. Before she could react, he pushed her back and shattered the window with her body. She felt the glass cut deep into her back and winced.
He was holding her by her shirt, nothing below her to catch her fall. She had to be at least three stories up, and she knew that if that man let go she'd die. She looked him in the eye, trying to plead with him.
"Why won't you just shut up and cooperate?" The man seethed.
"I've tried to," She admitted, "But it never works how I think it will."
"It would've worked this time." The man whispered. She felt the man loosen his grip, and she gasped as she started to fall.
But right before she could, she watched Seven run up and clock the man in the face, sending him flying to the ground. He caught her and pulled her up into his arms, and she grabbed back. It was so beautiful to be standing there in his arms at that moment. She felt tears come to her eyes, but for whatever reason she couldn't make herself cry.
Seven pressed his face down into her hair and hugged her tighter. She closed her eyes and grabbed onto the back of his sweatshirt, savoring the moment. She was safe and in Seven's arms, and she didn't want to be anywhere else.
