"So?" MC asked, showing her outfit off for Saeyoung. "How do I look?" She was wearing a nice blouse with ruffle-filled accidents and black dress pants. It was simple, but it looked nice enough for the event.
Saeyoung was standing in the living room, still messing with the various parts of his outfit, and he looked up at MC. "You'd look better if you hadn't gotten beaten up yesterday."
She huffed and tossed the clothes she had borrowed at him. "Take your clothes, I'm not talking to you anymore."
"Noo!" He whined," I'm sorry!"
"Maybe I'll forgive you later." She smirked. "You'll have to buy me something nice, though."
"You're very high-maintenance, huh?" He held out his arm. "Oh well. Shall we?"
She smiled at him and grabbed his arm, then walked out the door with him.
---
They both stood in front of the door to the party.
"You know, everyone is going to be wondering why your face is wrecked." Saeyoung pointed out.
"Yours is, too." She retaliated quietly.
"They know I dangerous life, my face is excusable." He noticed how much she was fidgeting. "You look nervous."
"I am nervous."
"You don't have to be, I promise everyone will love you."
MC sighed nervously. "... Can I hold your hand?"
Saeyoung was taken aback, but nodded as quickly as he could. MC laced her fingers in his, then took a deep breath as she pushed open the door. It wasn't full, but it was clear that Jaehee had helped find guests while MC was gone. It was intimidating, but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle. She was a spy, after all.
"Luciel!" She heard Jaehee's voice, "And MC, I assume?"
MC nodded and turned to face her, which made Jaehee's expression turn to surprise. MC chuckled nervously. "I got kidnapped. That's why I wasn't there."
"... Is that supposed to reassure me?"
MC laughed. "I know, right? But it's dealt with now, I promise."
"Did Seven simp for you?" Yoosung asked from behind her. "Is that why you're holding hands?"
Jaehee gasped. "Yoosung-"
"No, yeah, I did." Saeyoung joked. Yoosung smiled triumphantly, almost like he didn't understand the joke.
"It's nice to meet you, Yoosung." MC changed the subject.
"And you!" He responded happily. "I was really curious to learn what you looked like!"
"Yeah, I normally look better, obviously." She motioned towards her face.
"I think you look great!" Zen simped.
"Why is everyone sneaking up on me!" MC exclaimed, "I swear, Jumin's going to drop down from the ceiling or something!"
Zen shivered. "That would be terrifying."
"How much do you think it would cost to get a harness to attach someone to the ceiling?" Yoosung asked.
"He could afford it, for sure," MC answered.
"Could I afford it?" Saeyoung asked.
"So you can go on the ceiling, or so you can attach Jumin to the ceiling?" Zen asked hesitantly.
"You'll find out sooner or later," Saeyoung said casually. Zen made a face.
"If you really want to know where Jumin is," Jaehee walked over, "He's waiting until it's time to talk on stage for the opening speech."
"Shouldn't MC do the speech?" Zen asked.
"I doubt she had time to prepare one. As well as the fact that she probably didn't even think to prepare one, no offense."
MC shrugged. "It's true."
"Oh look!" Yoosung exclaimed, "There he is!"
Jumin walked up on stage. Everyone clapped, then he started talking. "Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to the RFA party, the first one in more than two years. This party is special, because not only is the party coordinator not our dear friend Rika (who sadly passed away), but also because there were many hardships throughout the course of the planning process. I won't go into detail for the privacy of the people involved, but it's inspiring that someone, MC, could go through that and still put on such a magnificent party. So, that in mind, if you run into MC feel free to congratulate her for this. She's a strong woman, and deserves praise. I won't keep you any longer, enjoy the party." Jumin smiled, then walked off stage.
While people clapped, Jaehee leaned over to MC. "He didn't write that, I did."
"I figured."
"Well, MC?" Saeyoung grabbed her attention. "Want to come with me to talk to guests?"
She nodded. "Of course."
---
"The auction is gonna start soon." MC pointed out. "Which reminds me, is V coming?"
Saeyoung shook his head. "No, his flight got delayed. He wouldn't be able to make it in time."
MC frowned. "That's a shame."
Saeyoung nodded. "We can still see his pictures, though."
"That's good."
There was a pause.
"Y'know," Saeyoung started," The pictures aren't being shipped right after the auction. Wouldn't you rather go see them without everyone else interfering?"
MC raised an eyebrow. "Are you suggesting we skip the auction?"
Saeyoung nodded. "The main hall will be empty, we'll have it to ourselves. Doesn't that sound nice?"
MC hummed as she thought about it. "That does sound nice..."
"It's sealed, you've made a pact! We're delinquents now."
She shook her head and snapped. "Shucks. I needed to keep my record clean."
Saeyoung shook his head as well. "I bet you've never even broken into a building."
"If you keep pulling me to the dark side I might."
Saeyoung looked around. "Hey, look, we're alone."
MC looked as well, her eyes being greeted with an empty room in ahead of her. "Yeah, it seems so."
Saeyoung held out his arms and spun into the middle of the room. MC ran up to him and grabbed his arms to steady him as he stopped.
"Thank you, MC. That was a dumb decision." He said, his body rocking from the dizziness.
"You need to learn how to handle freedom better. You're like a high schooler in college."
"A kid in a candy store... Hey MC, you should dance with me." He laced his fingers between hers and placed his other hand on her hip.
Just like my daydream, she thought. She put her hand on his shoulder, then started dancing with him. It was a gentle slow-dance, which was nice because neither of them could do anything better.
"Saeyoung... I promise to help you save your brother." She said. "I feel like I didn't give you a definite answer before, but I want to help you."
"Thanks... As long as we're making promises, I promise to never doubt you again. I promise to trust you."
"You shouldn't." She joked.
He smiled. "Well, I guess I'm just stupid because I'm going to."
They sat there in silence for a little while, still dancing.
MC spoke up finally. "Do we have to get married now or something?"
"I hope not, I don't have a ring for you."
"Maybe one day you will."
