ELENA WAS TIRED OF THE GREEN AROUND HER. trees were the only thing in sight for the last hour and her phone had no signal.

she sighed, taking her earbuds out. the last week in fresno went by so quick. she spent most of it packing and the rest with riley, of course.

elena was glad to be getting out of that toxic city and get a fresh start but she didn't want to leave riley behind. she had promised to visit her in the summer or the long weekends. she got anxiety just thinking of having to socialize with new people.

from what her research showed her, forks was a small town who barely got any new people. therefore she would be the new girl from sunny california that no one knew, she planned to be confident and not show people any sign of weakness. she couldn't mess this up. she couldn't let anyone know about what happened to her.

"ya mero llegamos hija" we're almost there her mom snapped her out of her thoughts. she simply nodded and looked back outside to the never ending forest.

the new guzman household was nothing fancy, a simple grey two story house that looked a bit run down but they didn't mind. it added charm.

"porfavor trata de acomodar lo más que puedas ahora porque no quiero que tengas cajas ahí por meses" please try to organize as much as y can today because i don't want you to have boxes in your room for months adriana gave the teen a stern look.

"si ama ya boy" yes mom i'm going elena carried the last box up the stair noticing there was a squeaky step.

she let out a huff putting the box down. she looked around her room, decorating it in her head. the room had white walls with her bed in the corner next to the big window her dresser in another corner. she had a view of the backyard/forest, which she loved.

picking up a box labeled "CLOTHES" she played her "vibing" playlist and began organizing her prefolded clothes in her dresser.

she did this for the next four hours.

Elena had finished organizing everything in her closet and dresser, all that was left to do was put her decoration up which she promised her mom to do the next day after school.

she nodded at the outfit laid out infront of her, satisfied with the bold choice. she folded it nicely and put it on top of her vanity, along with the jewelry and white combat boots.

she was scared, terrified. her outfit said otherwise but she had to look like she didn't care. not only is she a new face but it was the middle of junior year, everyone already had their friend group and established "rules". riley reassured her she'll be fine and to just vibe and see where it takes her.

the rest of the night consisted of facetime calls with riley and encouraging words from her mother.

elena really hoped the next day went smoothly. thinking of all the things that could possibly go wrong, she drifted into a peaceful sleep.
