ELENA JOGGED DOWN THE STAIRS AND INTO THE KITCHEN. she felt surprised to see bella swan and an older man with a thick mustache in her kitchen.
"hi i'm elena," she shook his hand, "charlie," he smiled at her, "this is my daughter bella," bella chimes in before elena can, "uh yeah we go to school together"
"that's perfect then," adriana claps her hands together, "you two can go to elena's room while i finish dinner up." elena nods knowing that wasn't a suggestion but more of a demand.
the black haired girl nods her head to bella, walking up the stair and into her room. closing the door behind bella she spoke, "sooo this is weird," bella laughs, "yeah,"
elena plops down on her bed, patting the space infront of her gesturing to bella she can sit down. "so i'm guessing this isn't really a professional dinner and more of a date," elena questions bella who nodded.
"yeah my dad told me he was seeing someone before i moved here, i didn't know it was your mom," elena slightly frowns. bella knew before she did, she wondered why her mom didn't tell her anything. "hey, uh why is uh edward so weird?" bella looks down at her hands embarrassed to bring up the boy.
elena laughs, "girl i wish i could tell you, but no why do you ask? what did he do?"
"i dont know his moods just give me constant whiplash. he avoids me and then he talks to me as if nothing happened and then he's back to 'we can't be friends it's dangerous" bella puts quotation fingers around the last bit. elena frowns at the girl, she could tell she had a liking for the tall boy. "well i wish i had more information for you but i dont really know. from what i know, i'm the only person outside of their family they talk to at school. but i say ask him about it," elena gives the girl across her some advice, "i can try asking if you want?"
bella shook her head, "no it's okay, i don't want to drag you into it," elena frowned, "anyways what about you and jasper? i can tell you guys are close," bella smirks.
elena feels her face heat up, " i dont know what you're talking about," bella pushes her shoulder, "come on there has to be something there,"
"okay maybe i have a teensy crush on him but he doesn't feel the same," elena shrugs. bella gives her an "are you serious" face. "what? i'm serious he doesn't,"
the two continue conversating, getting more comfortable around eachother. they clicked a lot more than either of them thought they would.
dinner was comfortable with charlie and bella, elena noticed how her mom looked genuinely happy when she laughed at something charlie said. it made elena happy to see her mom moving on from her father, who had left them when she was younger. her heart felt warm thinking about expanding the family and having a father and a sister.
