ELENA GOT TO SCHOOL EARLIER THAN USUAL. her mom got an earlier shift plus she didn't want to miss the field trip and have to stay at school. she scanned the lot to find someone she knew when she saw the orange chipped truck.

"hey step sis," she chuckles as she reached the brunette who was deep in thought. "hey," bella looks up at her with a half smile.

"i had a weird drea-" elena started but got cut off by none other than mike newton.

"look at you huh, you're aliveee" he made a big gesture with his arms making elena roll her eyes, "yeah false alarm i guess" bella laughs lightly.

"yeah uhm no i was wanting to ask you if uhm, you know it's like a month away but uh," mike stammers, elena smirks, "do you want to uh go to pro- prom with me"

elena nudged the girl next to her who was looking past mike and at the cullens, "so what do you think?" mike pressed the matter more.

"think about what?" bella looks at him, "do you want to go? to prom, with me?" mike laughs awkwardly.

"god you two make me want to bury myself in a hole with all this awkwardness, i'll see you two losers later," elena threw up a peace sign and walked away despite the look bella gave her. the young hispanic walked towards the three cullen sibling laughing a bit.

"wassup amigos," she hugged alice. jasper gave her a warm smile which made her feel all warm and fuzzy, "hey you left me yesterday," she frowned at him. "i'm sorry about that, something came up. i'll make it up to you i promise," elena turned to edward who was staring at bella and mike, she rolled her eyes remembering what bella told her last night.

"yo yo aye guys, come on we gotta go we gotta go. green is what? good. lets go," mr.banner yelled at the students. elena walked with the siblings by towards the bus, "other bus," mr.banner guided them to the other bus.

taking a seat next to jasper she laid her head on the seat infront of her, closing her eyes. "are you okay?" jasper asked her worriedly. she turned her head to him and gave him a lazy smile, "yeah i didn't get much sleep last night. i felt like something was staring at me, it was really creepy. i dont know maybe i should stop watching criminal minds," she sat up trying to keep her eyes open.

"you can go to sleep, darlin'. ill wake you when we get there," the honey blonde gave her a smile. without saying a word the black haired girl laid her head on his hard shoulder and slowly fell asleep. somehow her hand ended up in his.

"sweetheart," she heard someone whisper, "we're here," she slowly opened her eyes, blinking at the sudden brightness. her eyes focused on the pale boy infront of her and she smiled.

"thank you, hopefully i didn't do anything embarrassing," she lightly laughs. he shook his head and they both headed off the bus, not letting go of their hands. they were at a compost garden for their biology class. really, elena had only gone to be excused from her other classes.

the two walked hand in hand across the garden admiring the wet plants, elena rambling about her love for the earth. quickly she realizes how she hasn't stopped talking and sheepishly apologizes.

"don't apologize for talking about something you love," jasper looks at her, he smirks, "plus i think it's cute," the comment made the young girl's face to heat up. looking ahead of them, elena notices bella standing with the tall figure that is edward.

"hey what's with edward and bella? she told me he's being really moody with her," elena questions jasper. he shrugs his shoulders, "i dont know actually, ive never seen him like that around anyone," elena dismisses the subject not wanting to annoy the boy and continues walking till the end of the garden.

walking out into the windy air she shivers, "you know you should probably invest in some actual pants," jasper slightly laughs. elena gasps and acts offended, "i do wear pants mr.hale, i just prefer to show off my beautiful long legs," he laughs as they continue their walk to the bus.

nearing it they watch bella and edward having a conversation, alice joining them as they got closer. "hey are you joining us on the bus," alice asks with her naturally cheery voice only to get shut down by edward, "no this bus is full," he knocks on the bus doors and walks into the bus as the driver opens them.

"asshole," elena mutters and gives bella a guilty smile as she got on the bus after alice, letting go of jasper's hand. she walked to the back where her seat was and sat by the window, waiting for the bus to start driving. she looked over at jasper as he sat next to her and stared at him.

he truly made her happy. he made her feel alive, more alive than she's felt in months. although she couldn't help but feel guilty for taking such a liking in the honey blonde. she felt as if she was moving on too fast. it scared her. she knew jasper would never do anything like that but then again she never thought alex would do that either. she was in a pickle and she knew it.

"are you okay?" his intoxicating voice snapped her out of her thoughts. blinking a few times she nodded giving him a half smile. the pair stayed silent for the rest of the ride back to fork high school, neither of them knowing what to say or minding the silence.

jasper felt the girl's mood get darker and darker as they got to their school, he tried to make it even a little better but it didn't seem to work. when they pulled into the parking lot, elena got off the bus and walked away from the siblings without even a goodbye. it left them all, but edward, confused. they all looked at him for an explanation but he knew it wasn't his story to tell.

elena walked over to bella who was about to get into her truck, "hey bella can i uh get a ride home," she asks her quietly. bella simply nodded noticing elena was close to crying. the two got into the rusty truck and drove to the grey house in silence.

"do you want to talk about it," bella asks the girl next to her. elena shook her head,"i just want to be alone right now, thank you so much for the ride. i'll see you later," she closed the truck door and ran into the house.

as soon as she shut the front door she felt her tears roll down her face like it was a race. she was really thankful that her mom wasn't home, she didn't feel like answering any questions. mostly because she didn't think she'd have the answers. not even trying to stop her tears, she headed straight into her bathroom and started to undress herself.

she turned the shower on and got in, staring at the wall blankly as the tears still rolled down her face. the only noise in the house being the shower running, nothing else. just silence.

a little over an hour passed, not a word said. she washed the last of the lavender shampoo out of her hair and turned the water off. squeezing all the excess water out of her short hair, she grabbed a tower and wrapped it around herself. she walked into her room, not caring that there was barely any light coming in from the window. not caring about a bra, she pulled over the familiar grey sweater with her underwear, some black spandex and her favorite thin socks.

elena pulled herself under the covers, not caring about her wet hair against the bed sheets. she dialed the one person's number she wanted to talk to.

"hey it's riley, sorry i cant come to the phone right now just leave a message or something i dont know" beeeeep

"uh hey riles," she sniffles, "i just really miss you and want to hear your voice. we haven't talked much huh. i'm sorry about that. i hope i get to see you soon. okay bye i love you" she sighed with frustration as she felt tears starting to form again. she hated feeling like this, she felt weak.

elena turned her body towards the window where the moon shone brightly. questions flowing through her mind like a river. she slowly fell asleep, her body feeling exhausted by all the emotions of that day. she was so exhausted she didn't care that a certain honey blonde was watching her as she fell asleep, feeling a sense of calmness overtake her body.
