ELENA HAD A FEW CLASSES WITH BELLA SWAN. the two never really had a conversation due to being seated away from eachother.
it was lunch and elena was in the middle of defending the awkward girl.
"she looks nice you asshole," she threw a fry at owen, who just made a rude remark about bella, "you just need to get to know her"
"oh and you know her?" he ate the stale fry, "i will" she got up from her table and walked over to bella. she rolled her eyes seeing she was seated with none other than jessica.
"that's elena, she was new before you came here. she's kind of a bitch," she heard as she came behind jessica, the rest of the table widening their eyes. she pulled up a chair besides bella and sat in it, "i'm only a bitch to people i don't like" she sends her a sarcastic smile, making jessica glare at her.
"hi i'm elena," she smiles at the girl next to her. "i'm bella," she gives her a tight lipped smile. "we were just giving bella here the 411 on everyone at the school" eric chimes in.
elena snorts, "the 411? really eric? and obviously not the correct one" she gives the girl infront of her a stare, which was interrupted by bella.
"who are they?" the new girl's attention was on the pale family walking into the cafeteria. "the cullens," angela responds to her question, "they're dr. and mrs. cullen's foster kids, they moved down here from alaska, like, a few years ago" jessica chimes in, stealing glances at the siblings in line for their lunch.
"they kinda keep to themselves," angel pops a grape in her mouth. "yeah cos they're all together. like together together," jessica leans into the table lowering her voice causing elena to roll her eyes "the blonde girl, that's rosalie. and the big dark haired guy , emmett, they're like a thing. i'm not even sure that's legal"
elena rolled her eyes, "they're not real family so it doesn't matter plus it's none of your business," angela nodded, agreeing with her.
"yeah but they live together, it's weird," jessica shot back, but continued her to talk about the family. "and okay, the little dark haired girl's alice. she's really weird. and she's with jasper the blonde one who always looks like he's in pain,"
elena quickly jumps in, defending her friends,"okay first of all, alice is a sweetheart don't ever come for my girlfriend like that," she interrupts the light brunette, "second of all, stop listening to rumors. jasper and alice are not together, also stop judging what people look like when you look like you came out of a bad coming of age 2000s movie," jessica rolls her eyes, feeling embarrassed from being called out.
elena smiles as jasper and alice walk by the table, the pair smiling back as they listened to her defend them.
"dr. cullen's like this foster dad slash matchmaker," jess lightly laughs. "maybe he'll adopt me," angel chimes in, causing elena to laugh as she bit into the apple she grabbed off bella's tray.
"who's that?" bella turned her attention to edward coming through the door. infatuation and curiosity through her eyes.
"that's edward cullen," jessica looks back at him, smiling, " he's totally gorgeous, obviously, but apparently nobody here is good enough for him," she looks down at her salad, clearly hurt.
"like i care, you know," elena laughs, not caring if it was rude or not, "so yeah. seriously like don't waste your time" jessica gives bella a glances, who's eyes were still trained on edward. "i wasn't planning on it," she gives a breathy laugh stealing glances at the cullen table.
"don't listen to jessica, i mean eddy isn't the best looking out of the clan but i mean whatever floats your boat," elena shrugs, "but it's true they do mostly keep to themselves"
"except for with elena," angela smirks, "she's actually friends with them. what's that like?" elena looks at her with weirded out look. "oh no you're right it's like being friends with gods, they tried to sacrifice me to the devil once," she nodded, "no i'm kidding they're nice, you know like they're normal people. there's nothing wrong with not wanting to interact with people, especially the ones here" she threw a glance at jessica.
bella wasn't paying attention the the group chatter, her eyes were fixed on edward cullen. elena noticed this and sent a smirk towards jasper, who was already staring at her. the eye contact made elena feel fuzzy inside but she tried to mask it, failing miserably as the golden eyed boy could already feel her emotions.
the bell rang signaling it was time to go to class, elena groaned not wanting to go to biology. she walked through the halls with bella and mike, listening to their conversation. mike was clearly flirting with her before getting called over by a friend.
"he totally wants you," elena smirk at bella. "no he doesn't," the awkward girl responds with laugh. elena rolls her eyes, "yeah okay sure," she walks to her desk and sits in her seat.
she watches as bella sits next to edward reluctantly, the two engaging in conversation. she turned her attention to mr.molina, who explained the activity of the day with the prize of the golden onion.
"okay yeah that's disgusting, onions are a no go for me," elena grimaced in her seat. "you don't have to eat the onion," rosalie states matter-a-factly with a chuckle.
"well i know that but still, and who wants an onion spray painted gold?" elena furthered the conversation copying what was on jasper paper, throwing him an innocent grin when he looked at her semi-disappointed, "i'll take cash instead," the sibling laughed at the witty girl.
the class continued with elena talking with alice and then copying off of the twins seated behind them, none of them really in a hurry to win the onion. a little before the class ended, mr.molina, loudly, announced bella and edward won the worthless prize. elena turned to the three siblings and pretended to cry, "not my onion," the three chuckled, "and scene,"
they all turned their papers in and continued their conversation till the class ended.

"come on," elena grumbled pulling at the lock. the bell had already rung, signaling the end of the school day but elena's locker was giving her a hard time. she couldn't leave her backpack at school, her house key was in there. she winced, punching the locker a little harder than she intended. she grabbed the backpack angrily and slammed the locker shut. she looked down at her hand, which was now red and slightly swollen, "you've got to be fucking kidding me,"
she furrowed her eyebrows hearing all the commotion outside. pushing the door open she saw the blue van, which she knew belonged to tyler, crashed against bella's orange truck. elena looked over to where the cullens usually stood, they looked angry. they quickly got in their cars and drove off, leaving her confused.
i guess im walking alone today.
elena walked by the scene, where she saw bella being put into an ambulance. the young hispanic felt a bit fear strike her, she pulled her phone out and sent tyler a text asking him what happened. she didn't receive an answer which scared her.
she walked as fast as possible towards her home, hoping her mother was home. to her surprise, she was.
"mami?" elena called out into the house, closing the front door. she walked into the kitchen where her mom was cooking and was dressed up. she looked at her confused.
"uh que ase?" uh what are you doing she sits on the island. "el sheriff va venir con su hija a cenar," the sheriff and his daughter are coming over for dinner adriana looks up from the pot with a smile. elena looked at her mom for a couple of seconds before heading up to her room.
elena wasn't sure what this dinner meant. was it professional or was it dinner dinner? she didn't mind either way. but if it was a dinner dinner, her mom mentioned the sheriff had a daughter, she would have a step-sister. elena really hoped if that was the case that the daughter wasn't a bitch.
the black haired girl left her black band t shirt on but changed her skirt into some light jeans. she put her hair into a messy pony tail and touched her makeup up. as she finished she heard a knock on their door.
"ELENA," her mom called before opening the door.
