ELENA WAS SAT ON THE SWAN COUCH WATCHING TV, WAITING FOR BELLA TO FINALLY BREAK IT TO CHARLIE. the girl was rarely home anymore. when she wasnt at the cullen house, she was at the swan household on what was now her designated area of the couch. her and charlie got along quite well which made elena's mother very happy. and it made elena happy that her mother was happy.
"i have a date with edward cullen," bella blurts out as she hands her dad a new beer.
"fucking finally," elena mutters, pausing her show. she gets up to get closer to the conversation happening in the room next to her.
"hes a little old for you, isnt he?" charlie replies to his daughter, continuing to clean his rifle. elena sits in the chair diagonal to the man and smiles in amusement.
"no," bella looks down and shakes her head, "he's a junior. im a junior. i thought you liked the cullens."
"i thought you didnt like any of the boys in town," charlie shoots back taking a sip of his beer.
"edward doesnt live in town. technically," bella says making elena snort. the brunette throws her a look, "plus elena is going with us, shes dating edward's brother,"
elena scoffs, "first of all, we are not dating. simply besties."
charlie looks at the black haired girl with an eyebrow raised. she only shrugs and gives a cheesy smile.
"he's right outside," bella continues.
"he is?" the man made a face making elena chuckle.
"yeah, he wanted to meet you, officially."
"all right," charlie cocks his gun, "bring him in."
bella jumps a bit back from the loud sound, "could you be nice? he's.. he's important."
charlie waves his pointer finger in a circle over his head creating a halo before bella walks off to get edward from out front.
"jeez charlie man give the boy a chance." elena chuckles.
"who's jasper?" he looks at her half teasingly.
the man had grown a small fatherlike protectiveness over elena.
the black haired girl's cheeks turn a light shade of pink, "dont worry old man you're my number one forks bestie."
before the older swan could question her anymore bella came into the dining room with edward by her side.
"chief swan. i want to formally introduce myself. im edward cullen." the pale teenager put his hand out.
charlie accepts the handshake, "hi, edward."
"they wont be out too late. we're just going to play baseball with my family." edward explains.
"baseball?" he raises his eyebrows in surprise.
"yes sir thats the plan."
the older man chuckles, "bella's gonna play baseball. well good luck with that." he scratches his neck.
"i'll take good care of her. i promise. elena aswell." he reassures him.
elena gets up from her spot, placing her black beanie on her head, "lets get this party started!"
as the trio of teens begins to walk out charlie calls out to the girls, "still got that pepper spray?"
elena takes it out from the pocket of her oversized puff jacket, "yes sir, charlie sir. never leave home without it."
he only nods and watches them go out into the car.

elena loved cloudy weather, she loved the smell of possible rain. it kept her calm and her mind clear. she loved that they were about to play baseball in middle of a thunderstorm.
