Chapter 6

Y/N's POVMy nichirin was finally delivered, and also I was sent on a mission. I'm sad about leaving Urokodaki-san and the others, but they cheered me up. Especially Sabito who acts like our big brother, I never thought taking a mission was early. But I'm excited, I'm already a demon slayer from now on saving humans like me from demons.

When I received my nichirin sword, the man who made it was so shocked when he saw the color of my blade. But for Urokodaki-san seemed so confused when he saw the color. The color of my sword is red, nothing more just the color red. I don't know why but I expect that the color is blue.

" Y/N-sama! The village is near." I heard Kai say before landing on my shoulder. I smiled at him before nodding, I keep on thinking and didn't realize that we are near the village. My mission for today is to kill the demon who targeted young girls like me.

As I entered the village, I act normally while observing the surroundings. The village is not that bad, lots of products can be seen as the seller convincing the people to buy them. Children also are happily running and playing with each other. I smiled when I watch them tease each other, we used to do that with Kiriya and my other siblings before Oyakata-sama strictly taught them.

" Did you hear it? Young Lady Ruka nearly got killed last night." I stopped when I heard two women gossiping to each other.

" Yeah, thankfully one of the guards was watching her but he was injured and can't protect the Young Lady." The other woman replied, a girl nearly got killed last night. I wanted to ignore it but some part of me believed that it was a demon who did it. Also, this village is a little bit odd, they knew that lots of young girls are vanishing but why are they acting as if nothing had happened?

I then continued walking to find the Young Lady they are talking to. She must be the daughter of the person who controls this village. So their house must be far from here, I didn't even bother asking where to find it. Cause I want to observe while finding the house. The more I walk the lesser villagers can be seen, I stopped when I notice a big house in front of me with also a guard watching the gate.

I also noticed that the house was separated alone from the villager's houses. So it means I found the place of the Young Lady who got nearly killed last night. The guard with a spear in his hand noticed me, his cold and scary eyes were staring at me making me smile, and bowed before leaving the place.

The house was also surrounded by trees so it was easier for me to stay and wait until night comes. My instinct was telling me that the person or something who is after the Young Lady's life will come back to kill her again. I didn't let myself get noticed by the guard as I jump towards the tree to make myself close to the house. All I need to do is wait patiently, this mission is just getting started.******Night has come but I didn't yet sense a demon, also the moon was only my light together with the light of the house. I sighed as I stand up to leave but I got stopped when I saw a girl going out in the backyard. She had black hair and also some servants is with her, maybe watching her.

" Ruka-sama, you need to sleep." One servant said so she is the young lady whom they are talking about. She was really beautiful, but her face was too sad even if she was smiling.

" Then I will." She said gently, I can see a little bit of fear on her face when she started entering, but a smile can be seen on her face.

Minutes had passed and the whole village became quiet. I'm still sitting in the tree waiting for the demon to show itself. But I think the demon showed itself, I can hear the Young Lady's scream together with the servant calling her name. No doubt, the demon who nearly killed the young lady is a demon. I grabbed my sword as I jumped towards the roof while entering inside.

" Breath of Water, Second Form: Water wheel." As I entered I didn't hesitate to cut the demon's hand who is pulling the girl's leg. He screamed in pain as I pulled the Young Lady while backing away from the demon.

" Ruka-sama!" The servant yelled while approaching us, the young lady whose name is Ruka stared at me with confusion and fear look.

" I'm sorry if I entered without permission but I need to kill that first. Also, I'm sorry if I'll break the wall." I said politely before kicking the demon outside. I can't just fight it inside while there are people who need to be safe. But I think breaking the wall to make us go outside startled some guards.

" How dare you interrupt me!" The demon growled while glaring at me, I was just smiling at him. I was amazed I met a morphed demon on my first mission. Killing it will help me jump to the second rank of the demon slayer's rank. I'm from rank three after all.

" I'm sorry, but I need to stop you," I said still smiling at him, he gritted his teeth and suddenly used an attack. Maybe his demon art technique, I avoided it as I dashed towards him. But again he used his technique to push me away, he used that opportunity to return inside the house making me dash toward him.

" Breath of Water, Seventh Form: Drop Ripple Thrust Curve." In a blink of an eye, I cut and stabbed his stomach before kicking and slamming him to the ground.

" I can't let you return." I gently said, my eyes widened when he suddenly attacked. I managed to avoid it but I earned a cut on my waist, shoulder, and right cheek. His attack was a sharp wind, but having a keen eye helped me to avoid it. Though I let myself cut and did not take the fight seriously.

" Don't joke around! I'll kill you!" He yelled, and a gust of wind appeared surrounding me. I winced in pain when the wind started to cut all of my body making him laugh loudly. " You can't avoid that attack! It will tear you apart you weak demon slayer!" He said making me sigh, I'm amazed of the demon has amazing techniques like this but I should kill him.

" Breath of water, Fourth Form: Striking Tide." I twist my body and swung my sword stopping the wind that surrounded me. The demon widened his eyes and keep on attacking me but I avoided it. I can see his attack and also I'm using it on avoiding his attack. " I think this will be the end," I said as I dashed closer to him, I can see his face making me smile warmly before pointing my sword at his neck.

" Breath of Water, Eight Form: Waterfall basin," I whispered and cut his head vertically, his head then fell while his body crumbled. I tilt my head to see look at his face lastly.

" I hope in your next life you will become a human with a better life," I said kneeling while closing my eyes with my hand holding each other.

When I opened it, my eyes widened when I saw him crying before mumbling thank you. He then crumbled, a person who became a demon had their reasons. They were consumed by their greed for power or even consumed by their sadness. I feel bad for those who have a kind heart before turning into a demon. I then sighed and stand up, but I wince when I felt a little pain in my body.

I forgot that I let myself be injured, I need to return from the estates to let myself be treated. But I'm afraid Kanae-san's little sister will nag me despite being younger than me. Remembering the time I was hurt while training with Gyomie san and getting nagged by Shinobu makes my body tremble in fear.

" Young girl." I slowly turned my back when I heard a voice, I then saw all of the people who stayed in the house staring at me with happy and thankful faces. " Thank you for saving my daughter!" A middle-aged man said while kneeling, I feel awkward making me shake my head.

" N-no it's okay, raise your head please," I said making him stand up before facing me. I smiled before putting my sword back in its sheath.

" For me to thank you, why not let my servant clean your wounds and rest for a while." He said, I then stared at the servant and then at Ruka who also wanted me to stay, it was written on her face after all.

" I wanted to but, I need to go b-"

" Please! Why not let our servants treat your wounds and eat for breakfast before leaving? I want to thank you." The young lady suddenly cut me with a begging voice. I scratched my cheek before sighing in defeat.

" Then I can't disagree," I replied earning a smile from her, I also smiled. Now she is showing her true smile, not even a forced one. Also, it's not bad for me to rest for a while before going back to the estate. I wanted to see Oyakata-sama and the others but I can't just ignore their offer. And my mission is a big success, I met a morphed demon and defeat it. A good start for becoming a pillar.********
