Autumn p.o.v.

"Dark Arts isn't as easy as you think. It is even more difficult than Defense Against Dark Arts, that's why you will be having Advanced DADA with Dark Arts. These two subjects compliment each other-one cannot excel in one subject while fail in the other. This is why I require your full attention, not only to avoid getting hurt, but also learn to properly defend yourselves should a need arises." Professor Gemini paced the classroom while we all stared at her with complete silence and utmost respect.

"I do not expect foolish wand waving and playing around. The Dark Arts require a tremendous amount of concentration to hold you spell and be in control of the effect. This is why few witched and wizards truly master this form of arts. Do not ever cross me, or you'll find yourself in great trouble."

She continued in a lighter tone. "Well, today, we'll be starting with fire magic. We'll practice the first basic spell, incendio. After me, please."

"Incendio"  We chorused. "Very good. This is only the very start. I want you to imagine flames shooting from your wand tip. Once you've gotten the hang of it, flick your wrist and chant 'incendio'."

We nodded and got to work. Hmm, picturing flames. This is easy, I thought. I held out my wand and thought silently. "Incendio."

White hot flames erupted from my wand tip as soon as the words formed in my mind. This is awesome. I controlled the flames into different shapes, birds, a castle and later willing the flames to die down.

Half the class were staring at me hard. Professor Gemini grinned at me. "Great Autumn. You did it non-verbally. I'm amazed." She shook her head.

The others got back to concentrating on creating their flames while I experimented on different spells I found in my textbook. "You're quite talented, my young witch." Professor Gemini whispered to me. I smiled slightly in thanks.

After half of the class, we proceded to Defense Against Dark Arts. Professor Gemini taught us a few hexes and defensive curses which we quickly got the hang of it.

"Seeing there's five minutes left, we'll have a duel as a class. Allison and Jackson as a pair, Evans and Jones, Washington and Rivers..." She quickly divided into pairs.

"Of all people, why should it be you?" Hazel groaned.

"The winners duel each other and the last winner of this class gets to duel with myself. I'll be observing and making sure no one gets killed." Seeing our horrified looks, she smiled. "Don't worry, I'm joking. Now start."

I shrugged and asked Hazel. "You ready?"

"As ever." She replied and shot a jelly-leg curse. Smirking, I held out my palm and absorbed the power. Channeling it t my wand, I thought silently.

"Expelliarmus."

Hazel's hawthorn wand flew into my hand before she could even blink. "I win." I handed back her wand and she pouted.

Flashes of light illuminated and I duelled with a couple of others until there were only Rose and me left.

"I won't go easy on you, Autumn." She warned.

"Fire on." I faked an absent-minded look while inwardly anticipating her move. "Really, expelliarmus, huh?" I sensed her first spell and got ready to duck.

"Expelliarmus!" She yelled and I smirked. Dodging slightly, her spell missed me and another girl's wand came flying.

"Procidat deceptionem"

I quickly muttered, not knowing what the spell was. Instantly, Rose had a blank look on her face when I cast an 'expelliarmus' non-verbally. Waving my wand, I lifted the illusion spell and showed her her wand.
