On the way home from Wolf's house, I was standing on the metro and there was a guy being really obnoxious and drunk. He was talking in this poor woman's face and she looked like she was trying her best to ignore him. Everybody on the train seemed to be doing the same thing, ignoring him.

"Hey!" I heard my voice as if it hadn't come from me. I said it before I had even thought through what I was going to do. I knew what I wanted to do and that was to tear him apart and consume him, but as I looked at him leaning toward the woman, I knew I had to think of a better way to solve the problem. I took a handful of his jacket, pinching the skin between his neck and his shoulder and ripped back, pulling him away from her. He stumbled back clutching his shoulder and I realized I must have used my claws to dig into his flesh unintentionally.

"Leave her alone. No one wants to talk to you." I growled, letting my bangs hide my eyes as I struggled to keep them grey. Feeling the strength with which I moved him was enough for him to get the message, but I wondered what it would take for someone less harmless. Would I be able to hold back? Or would I expose myself and end up massacring an entire train car? The car fell silent and I stood in the middle, holding the bar tightly as if it was keeping me from dropping to all fours. A dog barked at me as I got off at my stop and when I ran out of the station through the double glass doors, I looked up at the full moon. Knowing that it was a full moon didn't seem to make it easier for me to hold on to the rubber bands suffocating my body or keep the heat from reaching my skin, mouth, or eyes.

"Silver!" There was surprise in his voice as I paused near an alley to catch my breath because the force I was fighting seemed to be crushing my lungs. Jack took me in his arms and I could feel the strength of the rubber bands decrease. As I hugged him, the strangling sensation melted away and I could finally breathe. "What happened?" he asked, urgently. I couldn't find the words to answer and we started to walk towards my apartment together with his attention on me.

"I wish you turned me." I whispered when we had rejoined each other in my bedroom. His eyes looked dark and seemed to be full of guilt. "I wanted to kill everyone in the train car. I could've exposed myself." I frowned down at my bed.

"It can be hard for witches to control their hunger. Helena comes from a family with witch blood and she struggles not to kill as well."

"Yeah, but you guys have the option to not kill and I have to become a beast and rip people apart in order to survive." I argued with my eyebrows pushed down.

"The reason we were made is to kill. Vampyres didn't control the population like they were supposed to and it's why He made Lycans." Jack reminded me. "It's easier to stay somewhere if you don't kill half your neighbors. Many have decided to assimilate and only feed on blood bags and animals, but they're forgetting about the purpose of demons in the first place." He explained seriously. "You are only doing what is natural for a demon. We're supposed to feed on the worst types of people."

I frowned at this statement, feeling like I should still be human. He kissed my wrinkled forehead and stroked my hair softly out of my face.

"I'm sorry." He murmured. "I didn't really want to turn you. I was thinking about just letting you stay human..." he told me, with serious red eyes. I didn't know what to say. What would I even prefer? If he had asked me, I'm sure I would've chosen to be like him, but maybe if I knew what it was like, I'd change my decision.

It was a cold April night when I decided to hunt the ones hunting me and my friends. I figured I would start with keeping a close eye on my friends and make sure no one followed them home. I considered only briefly taking out Jane and the boy Marnie had told me about, who I had learned was her brother. I didn't want to draw attention to myself by taking out students. I was perched on a rooftop a couple buildings away from Marnie's place and had used her scent trail to follow her route home. I peered over to her building to see nobody around the place other than random people walking on the street and I had already checked the other side of the building for any recent scents. I realized it wasn't very easy to monitor the door to her place because of the pub that was below it. That would be an easy way for someone to sneak up to Marnie's apartment and not be seen by someone like me watching the place. I waited until Marnie was probably completely up the stairs and then descended the fire escape of the building I was on and made my way into her building just to sniff around the staircase and doorway and make sure no one had gone up recently. I was satisfied that nobody was right behind Marnie, but I didn't feel like I was getting much accomplished, following her myself. I frowned to myself and decided I'd find hunters in the wildlife preserve much easier.
