I stood leaning over the bathtub, grinning. "I wanna do it." "No! I wanna do it!" Ace protested, leaning on my shoulder. "Rock paper scissors for it," I said, holding out a hand. "Ugh fine," he grumbled. "Rock paper scissors shoot!" I stared at his flat palm and my closed fist and frowned. "No no best two out of three."

Before we could even finish our game, Bruce walked into the bathroom, turning on the shower and immediately sending cold water pouring over Eric, who bolted upright with a shriek. "What the fuck?!" he cried, staring at us in confusion as we burst into laughter. "Morning Eric! How're you feeling?" Bruce asked.

Eric let out a groan, closing his eyes and sliding back down into the tub. "Tired and cold and now I'm wet and my head is killing me. And my stomach feels weird." "Oh my gosh no way! You're hungover after drinking an obscene amount of vodka and orange juice?" I teased. "And just an obscene amout of orange juice in general!" Ace chimed in. Shaking his head, Eric stifled a belch and sunk lower into the bathtub. "I'm dying againnn. Bruce why didn't you stop me?" he moaned.

"I told you to watch yourself. But nooo, you decided to get wasted. Again." "F-fine. Lesson learned, I won't drink again."

"Yeah I'll believe that when I see it," Bruce said, before walking to the kitchen. I looked at Eric, reaching over and shutting off the shower. "Get up, man! We're gonna get going soon! We're gonna get breakfast and then head out to the next town."

"Give me...give me like five minutes," he said with a yawn, water sloshing from his hair.

Ace slipped his arms around my waist, nuzzling me. "Come on babe, let Eric come back to life. We gotta get dressed anyway," he murmured. I grinned, kissing him on the cheek. "Ooh good idea, let's go!" I said cheerfully. "Yeah get out of here and let me die in peace," Eric grumbled, splashing some water at us.

Giggling, Ace dragged me to our room, throwing me on our bed and stripping off my pajama shirt. "Don't need that anymore," he teased, kissing me. I grinned, reaching up to pull off his shirt. "And you don't need that either," I purred.

We stripped each other down to pretty much nothing more than our underwear before Paul knocked aggressively on the thankfully closed door. "Stop making out and let's go, I'm stupid hungover and I just wanna get food and cry into my coffee," he grumbled, shuffling back off down the hall.

I looked at Ace with a sigh, kissing him one last time before jumping off the bed and throwing on my clothes. "Come on love, we're like two of the only functional ones, let's go!"

Soon enough the five of us had packed everything into the car and were driving off. Eric was sitting in the backseat next to us, eating his honey glazed ham while crying quietly. "Eric, come on man, you gotta stop with the ham. This is sad," Bruce said, looking at him in the rearview mirror while Paul slept in the passenger seat.

"No shut up. It helps my headache," Eric mumbled, tearing off another hunk of ham with his bare hands and eating it. "We're going to breakfast though! You'll get food there!" "I don't want food, I want ham!" he shouted back, bursting into tears and taking a bite directly from the ham. "Peter, take that from him," Bruce said in a tired voice. I leaned over, trying to pry the ham from Eric's grasp.

"No! Stop! It's mine!" he cried, taking another bite. "It's mine and I love it and I need it." "Eric come on, give up the ham," I said, trying to wrestle it from his grasp. "No!" he cried. "Come on curly, surrender the ham!" Finally, Eric held up his hands, letting me take the ham and set it on the floor. "Go to sleep man, you're hungover as hell," I said, patting him on the shoulder. He nodded, closing his eyes and immediately falling asleep.

"Y'all mind if we just like...go to McDonald's for breakfast? Because now Eric's asleep and Paul's also passed out and I'm not really trying to have to wake them up and deal with that," Bruce said with a sigh. "That's fine with me! McDonald's is good," I said cheerfully, leaning back against Ace, who slipped his arm around my waist, hand moving to the inside of my thigh with a cheeky grin. My face turned red and I kissed him lightly. "Hey baby doll I've got news for you," I whispered. He raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What is it?" "I'll tell you later, but it's good news I promise!"

We drove for a few hours after getting breakfast, the three of us talking about nothing while Eric and Paul kept sleeping. Finally, we pulled into the parking lot of another sketchy motel. "Alright let's just stay here, this town looks like there's kind of stuff to do," Bruce said, stretching with a yawn and leaning over to shake Paul awake.

"We're gonna head into town and see if there's anything to do, we'll catch you later!" I said, grabbing Ace's hand and starting to head toward the sidewalk. "Alright sounds good just leave me with the hungover ones that's cool," Bruce said, rolling his eyes with a grin.

"So what's your news?" Ace asked the instant we started walking down the sidewalk. I gave him a smile, squeezing his hand a bit. "So I know we've been off and on for years and that's largely been my fault..." "Yep." "And I know I messed up a lot and took your money a lot..." "That you did." "And I know I've said this before but I promise that this time I'm really done with cocaine."

Ace froze, staring at me. "What?" "I know I've said it before but I promise this time I'm actually for real done with cocaine. That's why I had been texting you about getting back together for awhile, since I had gotten out of that. I swear I'm done this time, I didn't even bring any coke with me and I don't even want to do it anymore if it means I can't be with you so I--" He cut me off by kissing me, before stepping back and giving me a huge smile. "Thanks. It says a lot that you're willing to do that for me. I'm proud of you," he said softly.

I smiled, hugging him tightly. "I love you," I murmured. "Not as much as I love you!" "Not even, I love you more!" "No!" We kept going back and forth as we walked, trying to find anything to do in the random city.

But it didn't even matter if we found anything, because just being with each other it was enough.
