That same night, after Azra and Eireen's dinner, when the blonde came home she had Kai waiting for them to talk. At first the girl was worried and a little panicked until he approached her with a little laugh. The two of them sat on the couch talking. He began by explaining that he had been thinking about his parents for the last few days and how he was willing to give them both another chance and finally try to work things out with them so that if they ever got married or had a child, it could be two happy moments and not a war between the two sides. Kai explained that he didn't want his future son to grow up with his grandparents not around. Azra listened attentively and as was to be expected, the girl eventually encouraged Kai to go and talk to them and try to work things out. She didn't feel well either because she wasn't well accepted by them, it hurt her, although she didn't say anything and it also brought her some fear and insecurity that Kai would one day choose and she couldn't exactly be upset if he chose his family.
Unlike Kai's parents, Azra's parents took the news well and welcomed Kai as part of the family. Even her father, who could be "a problem", welcomed the boy well and in the beginning even invited him to hang out. Drinking beer in a bar, watching some football game on TV or even a typical morning fishing and Kai would always go. Both loved each other's company and Azra was happy that at least her parents received the relationship well. They received it so well that when they answered the girl's calls the first questions were "when is the wedding?" "and grandchildren?" the girl laughed nervously and embarrassed.
Having said that and decided then, Kai the next morning at work called his parents; explaining that he was tired of being in that situation with both of them and that he missed them in spite of everything, and ended up scheduling lunch with them on Christmas Eve. Since he was not working that day, he would go early to his parents' house and in the afternoon he would come back to pick up Azra and then go away to spend Christmas alone with her. The boy sighed deeply as he put his mobile phone down on the table and left the room going to the break room before meeting Eireen and the interns, where he found Sehun sitting at a table with his legs crossed, drinking his usual coffee. Kai went to the counter where he put some coffee in a mug and approached him, pulling a chair and sitting next to him; Sehun woke up from his thoughts and looked at Kai.
"Well, I decided to take your advice and talked to my parents earlier." Kai started as he stared at his friend.
"How was it?"
"Good, I think." He shrugged off his shoulders. "We agreed to have lunch on Christmas Eve. Then I'll come back to pick up Azra."
"I'm glad, man. I hope things get sorted out once it for all, you deserve it." Sehun said with a positive grin. Kai shook is head and took a sip of his drink.
"Thank you." Kai placed the mug on the table. "Speaking of Christmas, what are you gonna do?"
"I'm just going to sleep all day." Sehun answered and sighed. "I planned on annoying you but you're out of town."
"Azra and I already feel bad about leaving you two here alone. Don't make it worse." Kai sighed and relaxed his shoulders.
"You two deserve some time alone, you don't have to feel bad about it." He said with a smirk.
"Did you talked to her?"
"Yeah, it didn't went well." Sehun let out a fake laugh and finished his drink. "It's whatever."
Kai sighed deeply and got up from his chair with his mug in his hand, he put his opposite hand on his friend's shoulder making Sehun look up, he shook his head and sketched a little smile. He took off his hand and went to the counter putting the mug down on the sink and left looking at his wristwatch. He went to the eighth floor where Eireen said she would be with the interns. As soon as he got there and saw Eireen. He approached her and greeted her, she smiled from ear to ear and signaled to wait a while, he nodded. Eireen approached a boy who was in front of the computer and leaned over to talk to him, the boy stood up and Eireen straightened up. She walked behind him to meet Kai and with her hands on the boy's shoulders, Eireen introduced him to Kai. Kai smiled and stretched out his hand for a handshake. The two talked for a while until Kai decided to take the boy to his office to show him what he was really doing and even let him do something, asking Eireen's permission to take him. The girl shook her head, agreeing and the two turned their backs as they talked to each other walking to the elevator. Eireen saw them walk away with their arms crossed and continued with the other interns.
