And it was a new year but everything remained the same in people's lives, at least in general. Nothing had changed, just the fact that the day after the party almost everyone had a huge headache from getting so drunk. Luckily, the next day was a holiday and not everyone had to go to work, and whoever had... would was moved coffee and painkillers to hold on during the day until they finally went home and got the night's sleep they so wanted. Kai and Azra had woken up pretty late that day. The girl rolled on the bed to the end where she got up the courage to get out of bed, leaving Kai hugging his pillow as he slowly closed his eyes again. The girl laughed and walked to her closet from where she took something simple and comfortable to wear and, with things in hand, she went to the bathroom to take a shower. When she came out of the bath, already dressed and while she was brushing her hair, Kai was lying on his stomach with his arm over her face and sighed deeply.

The girl sat on her leg on the bed and gently shook Kai's arm and he lowered his arm and looked at her, the blonde shook her head giggling and gave him a kiss on the cheek by getting up from the bed again and grabbing her mobile phone and house and car keys. She went to Eireen to go to a coffee shop and to confirm that the girl was okay as she had left the party suddenly. She warned Kai and left the house, walked to her car and drove to the girl's apartment. Azra parked the car, locked it, and walked to the girl's building, entered the door code, walked to the elevator, entered and pressed Eireen's floor number.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Azra got off the elevator and walked down the hall to her friend's door. She rang the doorbell and knocked three times, as she always did to let Eireen know it was her. It took a while to open the door, Azra waited with her arms folded until the door opened and Eireen appeared, already dressed in some skinny jeans and a red hoodie; the two greeted each other and Eireen gave the blonde space to enter and closed the door behind her back while the two walked to the living room. Azra put her things on the sofa and sat down while Eireen sat on a chair in front.

"How are you feeling?" Azra started as she looks at Eireen. "Yesterday you left so unexpectedly."

"I'm fine, I was just tired yesterday." Eireen answered as she pressed her lips into a thin line.

"You were fine and out of nowhere you get tired? Really?" Azra rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Do you think I'm going to buy that?"

"Sehun told me he likes me."

"Eireen, that's great!" Azra said surprised and a little excited until she noticed Eireen's expression. "Unless it isn't...?" The dark-haired girl shook her head. "I thought you liked him..."

"I do. But he wants to leave things the way they are."

"Why would he want that?" The blonded asked and frowned. "If you two like each other, what's the point?"

"Apparently I made my choice when I told him I respected what he wanted because I'm not gonna beg for anything, Azra." Eireen stood up ran her fingers through her hair. She lowered her arm and looked at the blonde as she shrugged. "It doesn't matter, honestly. We just have to pretend it didn't happen."

"No, no. Not on my watch. It does matter, look at you." Azra shook her head and pointed at her. "You two need to solve that, I mean it."

"Why? We fight all the time, even admitting that we like each other we fight." Eireen chuckled and sat down again. "It's not worth it. Things are better this way. I'll be fine, he'll be fine, and in a while we'll be over it."

"Unfortunately, that's not how things work, Eireen." Azra said in a serious tone, Eireen glared at her friend. "You don't just get over someone like that. It can take weeks, months, years for that to happen."
