*Beep* *Beep*

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock once again but this time it was different. It was my last first day of high school. I quickly jump in the shower get dressed and meet my family in the kitchen for the annual first day of school breakfast. Of course, my perfect little sister Lexus is already there flawless like always, but nothing can ruin this day for me. 10 more months and I'm off to college. Away from mom and her consist need to compare me to Lexus, away from Lexus and her always perfect self. But most of all away from dad not like he's going to realize anyways.

" Logan, LOGAN" I hear Lexus call just as I start the car. She climbs in the passenger's seat, "Mom said you have to drive me to school this year since she's back at work." My little sister is only a year younger than me and honestly if it wasn't for my mom loving her more than me, I probably would actually really like her. However, it's hard to like someone you're always being compared to. As we drive to school, I try my best to sound interested in the story she's telling me something about her best friend Alexis. I however, can wait to see Lacy and Jade my best friends. Finally, we are at school.

The morning drags on slowly, far too slowly. By lunch time I'm already tried and want to go home until I see them Lacy and Jade. We sit at our usual table and eat while me and Lacy listen to Jade talk about her summer long trip to Africa. Both of Jades parents are ex addicts turned saints and every summer they visit a 3rd world country and bring food, clean water, clothes, and help them build houses and stuff. As we are all laughing about Jades dad getting chased by an elephant the bell rings and its back to classes.

History, my favorite subject. The only class I have been looking forward to all day. But of course, just my luck I got Mrs. Perry. She is a miserable lady in her late 40's whose only goal in life is the make everyone else's life just as miserable as hers. The rest of the day drags on just like the morning. As soon as the final bell rings I stuff my books in my bag and race out the door and to the parking lot. Lacy is waiting for me at my car. "Can you give me a ride home my mom has to work late." Lacy's mom is the principal of Lansdown High School, our high school. It's really not as bad as it sounds. Lacy's mom is the nicest person I have ever met despite her husband running off on her and Lacy ten years ago with her sister. Me and Lacy have been best friends for as long as I can remember. "Sure, as long as you don't mind riding with 'Lex the Great.'". We both laugh as we climb into the car to wait for Lexus who like always is running late.

It's almost 4:00 when Lexus gets to the car. She smiling ear to ear as she tells us about her AMAZING first day. She got all her favorite teacher and even got a date for the homecoming dance on the first day of school. Later that night as we sit down for supper mom tells us how Dr Dad got called in to surgery and won't be joining us what a surprise. Lex whines about not being able to tell dad about her day. I'm used to it. Also, I have nothing to talk about my day sucked.

The next morning, I wake up to a text from Lacy and Jade asking if I can pick them up for school. Being the first one with a car has its perks. Maybe driving Lex to school won't be so bad if Lacy and Jade are there too. Once Jade is in the car, she's telling us about how this really cute girl moved in right next door to her and she wants to talk to her but doesn't know what to say. If you saw Lex and Jade sitting beside each other you would think they were best friends. They both have long wavy brown hair and are both unnatural beautiful. Me and Lacy were surprised when Jade first walked up to our table when she moved her two years ago from B.C. She looked like one of the popular girls that would never talk to people who looked like me and Lacy. Lex is one of the popular girls. Even as the older sister I seems to live in her shadow. Although until high school no one know who she was. Somehow over the summer from grade 8 to grade 9 she met Alexis and they became best friends and overly popular together. Personally, I don't understand how anyone could be Alexis friend.

As I walk through the door to my first period class Lacy taps me on the shoulder she switched from art to music. Thank god. At least we have one class together. The rest of the day passes by as uneventful as the first. I don't know why I thought this year was going to be any different than last year. Wishful thinking, I guess. The rest of the week passes the same way. Drive to school with Lacy, Jade, and Lex, go to classes, drive home with Lacy and Lex, diner with the family minus dad, sleep and repeat.

Finally, the weekend, Lex is spending the weekend at Alexis house and my parents are gone on their monthly alone trip. I have the house to myself just the way I like it. I can finally catch up on homework and start my college admission essays which I have to finish if I want any chances of getting in to college on early admission. My life is boring.

Monday comes around again way to fast and it is back into the same cycle or so I thought.
