I Found You

Chapter 8

*Warning* Slight mention of sex. No details and I don't actually say it happens but it is heavily implied.

*RRRIIINNGG*

            I wake up to the sound of my phone. "Hello," I say half asleep. "Wake up sleepy head, you're supposed to pick me and Jade up, we have hair appointments remember," Lacy says into the phone. Crap, what time is it? 11:30! "I'm on my way," I say and hang up. No time for a shower. Dani made me, Lacy and Jade hair appointments for 12:30. Dani made our hair appointments and makeup appointments and even picked out our outfits for our triple birthday party tonight. She wanted to make the day stress free. All we have to do for our party tonight is make our appointments and show up. I get dressed as fast as I can. It's an old tee-shirt and jeans, it doesn't really matter, I'll be changing for my party anyways. 

I get to Lacy's house and she already standing outside waiting for me. "Sorry I'm late, I stayed up half the night waiting to see my final grades," I tell her when she gets into the car. My second semester starts on Monday and I still don't have my math or History grades yet. "All the grades are up now, have you seen them, I passed!" Lacy says. I quickly grab my phone. "I PASSED!" I yell a little too loud for the tiny car.

The whole way to Jades, Lacy, and I talk about college life. At least I'm not the only one scared to leave home. When we get to Jade's house, she's standing outside with Dani. "You guys have to go straight from getting your hair done to getting your make up done. Nowhere else okay?" Dani half scolds us. We all agree. She made our appointments way too early our party starts at 5 but we aren't allowed there until 5:30.

After hair and makeup, we go to Jades to get dressed. The dresses Jade picked out for us look like ball gowns. They are beautiful, they have strapless lace corset tops with sweetheart necklines, the skirts are huge and made of tule. All of our dresses are the same just different colors. Mine is a light lilac, Jade's is a powder pink, and Lacy's is a sky blue, and they all come with matching tiaras. Dani did a good job picking out these dresses. I feel like a princess until I try to walk. They are extremely hard to walk in; I don't know how I'm going to go up and down any stairs.

It's 5:30 by the time we make it down the stairs and out to Jade's moms' minivan. "I don't know how the 3 of you are going fit with those dresses." Mrs. Jacobs jokes. It's 5:30 we are supposed to be there already and we haven't even left yet. It takes way longer than it should get us in the van, by the time we get to the hall it's after 6, maybe I was wrong about Dani making out appointments to earlier. Jade's mom drops us off and the doors, this is our friend's only party since our parents will be with us on our actual birthdays.

When we walk through the door my jaw drops. There are silver sparkly stars hang from the ceiling, flickering fairy light along the top of the walls, a photobooth section, a candy bar, she even got a DJ, and on the back wall, it says in big sliver letter letters covered in glitter Happy 18th Birthday Jade, Logan, and Lacy! I couldn't be happier. Dani did an amazing job.

"Thank you so much, Dani, it is beautiful!" I say to her. I want to make sure she knows we love it after all the hard work she put into making this night perfect for us. "Hey, beautiful" Jordan walks over and kisses me. "Wait until you see the cake Dani made for you 3, you'll love it." He says. "Honestly, I love everything about this, it looks more like prom than a birthday but it's amazing," I tell him. He smiles his beautiful smile and then asks me to dance.

The night is going fantastically. Me, lacy, and Jade aren't overly popular but we have made a few more friends this year plus some people came because Dani was sure to make our party was talked about all over the school. Everyone is laughing, talking, and dancing. Until Lex walks over to me. "I don't want to ruin your day but my friends Amy just told me that she talked to Alexis and she plans on crashing." Great, seen her yet but if I know her even half as well as I think she does I know she will make a scene just to prove a point. Dani tells me not to worry that see keep an eye out for her and if she shows she'll make sure she leaves.
