I Found You

Chapter 3

The next day I wake up and walk down to the kitchen. Mom and Dad are sitting at the table as I pour my cereal my mom and dad try to make small talk with me then dad slips. "So, you will be driving your sister home for the next week and she is NOT to go anywhere but school and home" "Uh-oh, what did she do" "Well if you must know" mom starts I can already tell this is going to be good. "You sister decided that going to a party and getting drunk and puking all over our bathroom sounded like a fun way to spend her Friday night." Lex never gets in trouble. Not that she never does anything wrong she just really good at getting away with it.

            Around 12, just as I finish my math homework Lex sit down beside me on my bed. "Mom and Dad are so unfair! Why don't you ever get grounded?" "Because I never do anything I'm not supposed to." "I heard you and Jordan Davis are going to homecoming, you know Alexis has her eye him right." With that she leaves my room just as fast as she came in. Of course, Alexis likes him now I definitely don't stand a chance. And what is with Lex? She been just like Alexis since the day she snapped at Lacy. The old Lex would have been happy for me to finally be going to a dance. Last time I thought it was because of her and Ben fighting but I thought they were better now.

            I'm lost in thought when I get a text *hey* *hey, number I don't know* weird the only people who text me are my family and Lacy and Jade, maybe its Dani. No, she gave me her number yesterday. *its Jordan I got your number from Dani u busy* WHAT! Ignoring the fact that he short hands when he is text I quickly reply *Not really* he replies within minutes * Wanna give me a tour of town* I reply telling him to give me a few minutes and I'll be over. This feels like a dream. Things like this don't happen to me.

            When I get to his house he's waiting outside. He looks prefect like always, he is wearing sweater that says home of the wildcats it must be his old high schools, school sweater. "Thanks for doing this, I have my license but I left my car in Halifax, it's hard to move a car across the county." He asked me to show him everywhere, the mall, the beach, the library. While we drive around, he tells me about his life. He has 3 older brothers, two of them, the twins and in college and they stayed in their old house in Halifax he was going to stay to finish senior year but Dani bagged him not to make her move here alone, he's oldest brother is married with daughter and working in the tech department a University in Halifax, they moved he just before started his dad got offered a job at the college here, he has his PHD in chemistry, he mom is a stay at home mom, she use to work in a day care but quit her job when she had her first child, to her nothing is more important than being a mom. Last but not least he loves History just like me. We lose track of time talking and before we know it it's dark outside. We decide to get dinner before I drop him off.

            By the time I get home its after 10 but after what Lex's did last night I'm pretty sure my parents won't care. To my surprise when I walk through the door my dad is sitting on the couch. "Where were you?" "Sorry dad I was showing the new kid Jordan around town" he nods and turns back to his fishing show. My head is spinning not only is Jordan smart, funny, nice, and attractive he also seemed to enjoy spending the day with me. I have to tell Lacy. Lacy is the only person I told about my feeling for Jordan, usually I would tell Jade but I didn't want her to slip to Dani. When Jade is nervous, she tends to talk before she thinks. As soon as Lacy picks up the phone I tell her everything than I realize it wasn't much more than two friends hanging out which is what we do every day at lunch. Then Lacy drops a bomb "He asked you to show him around? Apparently, his parents paid for a tour a few days after they moved here" Lacy's older brother works in the Mayor's office. "Maybe he wanted to hang out with you and use that as an excuse" Thanks Lacy. We talk for a few minutes about Bradley and homecoming we decide to text Jade and Dani to see if they want to go get dresses tomorrow then get off the phone.
