In the morning, Karma woke up. Nagisa was sleeping soundly beside him and he looked at her. She really was beautiful. Her eyelashes were long and her nose and mouth were perfect. He loved everything about the girl laying next to him. He put his hand on the side of her head and cupped her cheek. He kissed her and she began to wake up. When she saw him, she smiled brightly and he smiled back.
"I could get used to this," Nagisa said.
"Well, you better because we are going to get married soon," he replied and then he kissed her again.
He then got up and picked out a dress. He unbuttoned her nightgown and slid it off before helping her into the new dress. He saw that the bruises were starting to fade and smiled. He led her to the vanity table and picked up the hairbrush and started brushing her hair.
"How are you feeling today?" he asked as he brushed her hair.
"A lot better. I feel like I can actually move today without feeling a lot of pain," she replied.
"That's wonderful. I will help you with the medicine again tonight, but I don't think you will need it after today. When I helped you get changed this morning, the bruises were already starting to fade."
"I'm relieved. Now we can talk to our parents about the wedding," Nagisa said.
Karma helped her up from the vanity table and they walked out of the bedroom. They met Karma's father in the hallway, he wanted to talk to them about something. He stopped them before he spoke.
"What's really going on?" he asked.
"You caught on fast," Karma replied.
"I'm sorry for lying sir, but we cannot let a lot of people know. If it gets out, then I could be in even more danger than I am now. How much do you know?" Nagisa asked, stepping forward.
"I know that you have bruises from something that's not Karma," the man replied.
"You know more than most. Most of the servants don't even know. Karma, can you do it, please. It just doesn't feel right. I can't betray her," Nigisa said turning towards Karma and putting her hand on his cheek. He nuzzled into it before replying.
"Sure. Anything for you, Love. Nagisa's mother abuses her when she is angry. I don't know why she gets angry, but the littlest things can make her mom mad and she takes her anger out on Nagisa. The palace doctor usually helps, but she came straight to our room the other day when it happened, so I forgot to take her. You must keep this a secret and you can't tell anyone," Karma informed his father.
"That's horrible! How can I just not tell anyone?" the man asks.
"If you tell anyone, it puts Nagisa in even more danger, so just keep quiet about it. Nagisa wants to meet with our mother's to talk about the wedding, so we will be on our way," Karma said.
Karma took Nagisa's hand and they walked to the library where their moms were waiting. They skipped breakfast so that they could plan the wedding. Karma helped Nagisa sit down, then sat down next to her.
"How are you two doing?" Nagisa's mother asked.
"We are fine. Now we wanted to talk about the wedding," Karma replied.
"Yes. We know you want it to be simple, and we can make that happen, but your guest list feels a little.... Empty," Karma's mother said.
"That's how we want it. Those are the guests we care about. You can invite anyone else if you want, just make sure to invite these people. We also want to have it as soon as possible," Nagisa responded.
"I... see. You two really waste no time, do you?" she laughed happily.
"I know it's only been about a month, but we are serious about this. I love Nagisa and she loves me," Karma said.
"That's fine with us. We need to plan the wedding, so the shortest time it will take to finish planning is a month. The longest is three," Nagisa's mother said.
"Then let's aim for next month. It will be winter then, so we need warm clothes. We want the wedding to be held in the throne room and the reception in the garden. For the wedding, we only want the people on this list and yourselves. For the reception invite whoever you want," Nagisa instructed.
They sounded rude, but they just wanted to get what they wanted to say out of the way before their mothers started rambling about ideas. They planned the wedding for most of the day. Most of it was just choosing who to invite to the party. They had the guards and servants that would work the wedding chosen and how much extra they would pay them for their services. When it was time for dinner, they all went to the dining room.
Nagisa noticed that Karma's dad was looking at her worriedly. She smiled at him reassuringly, just to tell him she was okay. He was a kind man and was just looking out for her wellbeing. After dinner, Karma took her to their room and helped her put on the medicine. When he finished, he had not even helped her get the nightgown on, when she suddenly kissed him. She was sitting, so he pushed her over and pinned her down in the bed. She put up her hand to stop him, but then she kissed his neck. He flipped them over, that way Nagisa was on top of him. She kissed him hesitantly at first but then got the confidence to do more. She slid her hands underneath his shirt and ran hard hands over his chest. He was enjoying her taking the lead and he was not going to stop her. She started to take off his shirt and they parted for a second so she could, but then she was kissing him again. She kept running her hands over his chest and back. Soon she parted from him and started kissing his neck, he held her close as she got further away from his mouth. The kisses were wet and hot. Every time she kissed a new sport it burned, the feeling engraved in his memory. She started kissing his chest when he flipped over so that she was underneath him. He suddenly kissed her on the lips and the slowly pulled away. He rested his forehead against hers as they caught their breath. She smiled at him happily. That night, they forgot to get in pajamas and just went to sleep like they were.
The bruises had pretty much completely disappeared when they woke up in the morning. Nagisa got dressed and so did Karma, he brushed her hair and they made their way towards the library. They repeated this every day. Wake-up, get ready, go to the library. They memorized the cycle quickly.
