To Make Her Mine

I decided in that moment that I was going to tell Shona we were married. No more stupid games or challenges.

I was standing so close to Eva, looking deep into those brown eyes. Her eyes had alluring and bewitching effect on me. I was drowning deep into them. Her hands rested on my chest. My hands on the door either side of her head. Our hearts were thumping loud inside our chest.

I wondered if I should kiss her but I stopped myself. We were going to do this right. Not behaving like a couple of teenagers who couldn't keep their hands off each other.

I moved few inches apart from her, her hands didn't move from my chest.

"Sorry."

"For?"

"For doing this."

I had almost dragged her with me and pushed her to the door.

"I'm really sorry cherry, I don't know what came over me."

Her eyes were searching what I meant. Her gaze was inquisitive. She placed her right hand on my cheek. Other still on my chest.

"Josh, it's okay. I thought we were just having fun. Why are you so serious all of a sudden?"

"I thought you were trying to... Never mind."

"What Josh?" I didn't say anything.

"Josh, I just thought it was funny coz she was all over you. She still has hopes."

I looked at her, she was smiling. It made me easy. I was thinking too much into it.

"Yeah I noticed."

"You did? And here I thought that men are stupid."

"Hey, men ain't stupid. They just have less emotions or something like that." I said moving away from her embarrassed.

" From what I'm seeing right now, there's no scarcity of emotions in you."

"This is stupid. I just overreacted."

"You just....? You almost dragged me here and locked us inside a men's room."

There was a sound of flush and a door opening. A young man in his thirties came out of the washroom. Seeing us there, he was so startled that he didn't move for a minute. He turned pale and I wondered if I should pinch him to see if he was breathing. We kept looking at each other in unspoken horror of this awkward situation. Then I understood that we were blocking the door. We both moved away. He opened the door and went out almost running without saying a word.

And we both started laughing loud.

"I can't believe this just happened." I said between the laughs.

"Omg the look on his face."

"I thought for a while that he had an heart attack."

I saw Eve laughing after such a long time. It was treat to the sore eyes. Her face was glowing with the laughter . I remembered the old times when we used to laugh like crazy.

I was admiring her beauty when she noticed me admiring her.

"What?"

"You look beautiful when you smile."

She blushed.

"Shona must be thinking we left already." She said avoiding my eye while I couldn't manage to look away from her.

"Yeah we should go. We have to break the news to her."

She laughed even more.

When we went back, Shona was still on the phone. She came back after a minute. Without sitting she said, " Sorry guys, I have to go. The event I told you is today night. I messed up my calendar. This is Invitation for today's event. Lucky for you, I carry extra. The dress codes are mentioned inside. Please be presentable."
