I ended up waking up in my room. I don't know how I got there. I must have fallen asleep by the fire or something. It was like 8:00 in the morning and I was hungry so I went down to get breakfast. I was pouring a bowl of cereal and then Sam came downstairs.
Maddy- Hey, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry I overreacted.
Sam- No you didn't I was a dick.
I laughed.
Maddy- I don't want to be your enemy but I do want to be friends.
Sam- That would be great. Oh and happy birthday!
Maddy- Thanks!
I hugged him and went and sat on the couch. I stayed on my phone for a while. Everyone woke up one by one and told me happy birthday. I was looking just watching tik tok, then I started crying. It was a silent cry. I think it was because I had never really celebrated my birthday. Not even at the orphanage. The only person that would tell me "happy birthday" was Mrs.R and the lady that worked at the corner store. I pulled myself together and went upstairs. I got changed into a swimsuit:

And went to tan. I was sitting on the chair for about 10 minutes then Quinton asked me if I wanted to jump off the roof with him.
Maddy- You only live once right.
Quinton- That's right.
We got up to the roof and I got scared. I am terrified of heights.
Maddy- I don't want to do it anymore.
Quinton- It will be fun just hold my hand.
I took his hand and jumped off.
Maddy- Thank God, we didn't die.
Quinton laughed. We were at the deep end so I couldn't really touch. I can't really swim well either.
Quinton- You good?
Maddy- Yeah, I am going to go to the shallow end. I can't really swim well.
Quinton- I will come with you come on.
He took my hand again and led me to the shallow end.
Maddy- Thanks.
Quinton- No problem.
I stayed in the pool for a while and then got back out and went to tan.
Bryce- What's up with you and Quinton?
Maddy- Nothing.
Bryce- Oh really. Look.
I looked over at Quinton and he was staring at me with dream eyes. I rolled my eyes playfully and laid back down.
Maddy- I didn't know he looked at me like that.
Bryce- I didn't either, I just noticed.
Maddy- It's whatever I said I was taking a break from boys and just focusing on myself for a while.
Bryce- Yeah well we are having a bonfire later because we have to leave tomorrow.
Maddy- Tomorrow?
Bryce- Yeah.
Maddy- Ughhh.
It was about 6:00 and was starting to get dark so I thought I would go get a shower. I got out and changed into short shorts and one of Josh's sweatshirts. It was dark out now and everyone was already sitting by the fire. It looked something like this:

(But it wasn't at the beach.) I sat next to Josh and Jaden.
Josh- Is that my hoodie?
Maddy- Yeah it looks better on me anyway.
Jaden- She's not kidding.
I started laughing and looked over at Quinton. He patted the empty spot next to him signaling me to go over there. I walked over and Jaden grabbed my wrist.
Jaden- Where are you going?
Maddy- Overthere with Quinton.
Jaden- Okay.
He said looking mad.
Maddy- What's the matter?
Jaden- The way he looks at you...it's like he wants to eat you.
Maddy- Yeah, yeah.
I got out of Jaden's grasp and walked over to Quinton.
Quinton- How's your night been?
Maddy- Pretty good. You?
Quinton- Good. Who's hoodie are you wearing?
Maddy- Josh's.
Quinton- But I want you to wear mine. Take that one off I will give you mine and I will wear Josh's.
Maddy- I don't have a shirt on under this.
Quinton- It's okay let's go over here I won't look.
Maddy- Okay.
JADEN'S POV:
I saw Quinton take Mads away from the fire. I saw her take her shirt off while Quinton was turned around. While Quinton was turned around he took off his shirt. Mads handed him her's, and he handed his to her. I knew that he wouldn't be turned around if she didn't have a shirt on. I was mad but I had to keep it in.
MADDY'S POV:
After we switched we walked back to the fire.
Maddy- Just so you know I am taking a break from boys.
Quinton- You are?
Maddy- Yeah I got hurt too many times and I need to focus on myself for a little.
Quinton- That's cool.
He looked sad.
Maddy- What's wrong bub's?
Quinton- Bub's?
Maddy- Yep.
He laughed.
Quinton- Well, I really like you. You are so pretty on the inside and outside.
Maddy- Aww, thanks.
Quinton- Yeah.
Maddy- You know I don't know much about you so, maybe while I take a break from boys we can get closer and when I am ready, we can get even closer.
Quinton- That sounds good.
We just sat by the fire and talked about our backstories. Like what family he came from and stuff. I glanced over at Jaden a few times but he seemed like he was having fun so I just let it be. It was getting late so I decided to go to bed.
I don't know if I should continue the story, should I?
