Another chapter! Hope you guys enjoy this one!
When Billy woke the next morning, Steve was no where to be seen. He felt a sudden wave of panic as he jumped up and called for the boy. He stepped out of the room to see Steve coming out of the bathroom, hair all fixed up. He had clearly gotten much older, maybe around nine or ten now.
He saw that Steve had in fact changed his outfit himself too, which made Billy happy. Now he wouldn't have to help him anymore.
"Good morning, Billy!" The child greeted with a smile.
"Good morning Steve..." Billy said with a sigh of relief, glad to see he was still in the house and hadn't wandered away.He then heard Max practically flying up the stairs. "Billy! Billy there's a carnival tonight! Can we go? Steve would love it!" The ginger teen begged.
Steve seemed to like the idea of a carnival and started begging to go too. "Please Billy?" He asked, giving the older boy puppy eyes, "I'll be good!"
Max looked over to Steve, who was just under her shoulder now. "See, Billy? Steve even wants to go!" She smirked up at him.Billy let out a small sigh and agreed to take them. "Fine, Fine. We'll go to the stupid carnival. Hope you've got money for it, Maxine," Billy said, causing Max to glare at him.
The two glared at each other for a while before they heard Steve say, "I'm gonna go eat breakfast!" and run off to the kitchen.
As the siblings walked to the kitchen together, Max asked, "can we get everyone to go to the carnival with us? I'm sure he'd love everyone joining us."
"I don't care. I'm only in charge of you and Steve. Not anyone else," Billy replied as Max went to the phone and told everyone the plan.*Time skip to the carnival*
The day went on and soon enough, Billy was driving his step sister and ex-rival to the carnival. Steve had a surprisingly large amount of money so they would be able to play games and go on rides.
As they pulled up and saw everyone else? Max hopped out of the car. She ran up to the rest of the party and was soon followed by Steve, who was dragging Billy over to them.
Joyce, Hopper, Nancy, and Jonathan were there too, snickering as they watched. Billy only sent a glare their way and stood beside Steve, who didn't let go of his hand.
Dustin smiled at Steve and pointed out to the others he had gotten older.
"How old are you, Steve?" Will asked softly, smiling at him. Steve was practically Will's height, the older barely being taller.
"I'm ten!" the boy grinned proudly, wearing a wide smile on his face.
The others nodded, knowing he was getting closer to his normal self. The young teens were soon taking off to go play games and Steve pulled Billy all around. Eventually everyone split up and Billy was left alone with Steve, Nancy, and Jonathan.
"Okay little man. What do you want to do first?" The blue eyed boy asked.Steve paused and looked around. He didn't seem to know what he wanted so he looks up at Billy and shrugged. "What do you wanna go on?" The child asked.
Billy suggested the Ferris Wheel and Steve agreed. The four of them walked over and soon got on the ride. Jonathan and Nancy sat on one side with each other as Billy sat on the other with Steve by his side. They started to go up and up when Nancy suddenly remembered that Steve had told her he was terrified of heights as a kid but that he had 'gotten over it.'
"Billy," she hissed quietly to him.
"What, Wheeler?"
"Whatever you do, don't let Steve look over the edge."
"Why?"
"He's scared of heights."Billy immediately froze and looked at Steve, who didn't seem to be paying any attention to them as he looked up at the night sky.
"He never said he was scared."
"He's a kid, genius! He's not going to realize it till he actually gets on-!"And then, Steve looked down, and was suddenly filled with fear. He let out a small sound of distress, and latched onto Billy's arm.
"B-Billy-! Where so high up!" He cried out, shoving his face into his arm as he shook."Hey, hey, shhh... it isn't so high, buddy," Billy told him softly, "how about we look at the stars, huh? Look how pretty they are."
Billy was doing a great job of distracting the boy the rest of the way down. He was no longer scared and had stopped shaking.
Once they got off, Jonathan suggested they go get something to eat and then play games.Steve liked that plan, and ran off with Jonathan to a stand that had corn dogs.
"You did good back there, Hargrove," Nancy briefly complimented as she ran up to the two boys.
Billy smirked and then went after her. After the four of them ate something, Steve wanted to ride on Billy's shoulders. He lifted him up and they hunted for games to try and win.
They found a balloon dart game and played it a few times. Jonathan ended up winning and gave his prize, a small purple monkey, to Nancy.Steve then saw a large cat plush at a water gun game and was suddenly determined to try and win it. Billy said he would try and win it but Steve shook his head, saying he wanted to win it on his own. The teen shrugged and let Steve try as much as he could afford.
After about five tries, the boy finally won and the man handed the plush to little Steve, who immediately turned around and gave it to Billy.
"You want me to hold it?" Billy raised an eyebrow.
Steve shook his head at that and said, "no silly! For you!"The boy was then running off to find other games to play and Billy glanced over to Nancy and Jonathan, who were smirking at him.
Billy just flipped them off and went after Steve, telling him to slow down and wait for them.Next chapter is going to be teen Steve! Probably the age of the Party members so that means he's getting closer to getting back to normal! That also means the story will be ending soon!
But I'll be writing more like my Harringrove one shots! I'm going to start writing that soon so if you have any chapter suggestions, let me know.
Thanks!
