Locked Out (Lapidot Human AU)

~ Twelve ~

Lapis poV

I awoke early in the morning the next day. Peridot still asleep, I didn't want to wake her so I carfully removed her arm, instantly feeling cold. I head to the bathroom to freshen up. The work had me wear a uniform, which was just anything smart. So i decided to wear a dark blue skinny suit pants and a loose buttoned up shirt.
"Lapis~ come here~" I hear peridot moan in her tired voice. I chuckle and walk through to her. Her eyes widen.
"Wow your hot" she gets up and walks towards me kissing my neck. I shake my head and laugh. "Periii as much i want to I can't, I need to head now or ill be late" She pouts. I kiss her head and put on my shoes. "Get some more sleep, its pretty early and your working until 10pm tonight" I teasingly push her on the bed and then leave a quick mark on her neck. "You tease" she complains as I walk out. Grabbing my jacket and heading to the bus stop.

"Hello, My Name is Lapis Lazuli, i am the substitute?" I talk to the office lady, she smiles happily and gets up from her seat. "nice to meet you! I'm Blue! Ill show you around" 'she seems nice'.
I walk beside her as she shows me the classroom ill substituting. I couldn't help but stare in awe at the little 5 year olds.
"Hehe, I see you're one for children?" She smiles at me. I nod and think about Peridot, then frown a little. Blue notices and stops walking.
"Miss Lazuli, are you okay?" I sadly smiled. "Yeah sorry, I was just thinking" I admit. She tilts her head before opening the classroom door. The class going silent.
"Class This is Miss Lazuli, she will be your substitute for a while, she's very nice so treat her like a normal teacher" Blue announces before leaving me with the class. I look at the small children and smile.
"Hello class!, as you know I'm miss Lazuli, I hear you have been learning about a book named Timothy Green" I smile at the kids and their faces lighten up.
"I like your hair!"
"Are you married?"
"Do you have kids?"
"How is your hair blue"
I couldn't help but smile. I guess I could answer their questions.

"Miss Lazuli? Do you have kids?" I bend down to her size and smile. "No but i would like to one day" I answer the last question before heading behind the desk, checking for their work progression. "Hmm-" I think looking through the maths and spelling. It seems they were working on pronunciations of letters and words. I smile and stand up.
"Okay class! A quick break and then onto words!" They smile grabbing their coats and running outside. I pull out my phone and text peri

I suppose that Peridot had left for work now as she wasn't replying. I got up from my chair and wrote the alphabet on the board. Waiting for the bell. Before the bell had gone a small girl with brown hazelnut hair walked in crying. I bent to her level. "Hey, hey, hey, whats wrong?" I open my arms and she hugs me. 'Awee'
"Something happened to mommy last night when daddy came home." I raised my eyebrow. 'Im concerned'
"Could you tell me more?" I pull away and look at her tear stained cheeks.
"He said mommy has been a bad bad girl and them mommy screamed harder." I blushed and covered my mouth.
"Oh- I'm sure mommy's fine, umm, im sure they were just play fighting, l-like a pillow fight" I stutter and stand up. She nods and smiles. "That makes sense Miss Lazuli, do you have playful fights?" She smiled happily. I choked on air as she said this, being saved by the bell. "U-uhm unappropriate right now" I send her to her seat as children pilehar the classroom.

"There's my Lappy!" My mum rushes over to cuddle me. I was exhausted. Who knew kids would be hard.
"Hehe, hi mum, is Peri still at work?" I question and she nods, before helping me sit down.
"Soooo tell me everything" i smile them begin to laugh.
"Mum...I almost told a 5 year old what sex was..." I blushed and groaned. My mum crackled. "How did you avoid it?" She smirks perking up.
"I told her that it was playful fighting, she heard her parents!" I sit back up from my slouched position. "Quick thinking!" My mum sits up with me.

Peridot's PoV

I groan slamming my head on the desk. "Peridot- thats very unexceptable" Pearl Squawks. Pearl is the boss of the company. We basically fix computers and sell them as well as phones. This job can get very boring especially at 9:30pm, only half an hour to go anyway then I can go home to my gorgeous girlfriend- the bed, oh and Lapis. The bell chime of the door traces me out of my thoughts. I look up seeing a large figure. "U-uh hello, how can i help you?" I question looking up at the person. They didn't speak however. Behind them stood a familiar small face. "Aqua?" I question. She raises an eyebrow. "What are you doing here?" I question again. She grins. "Shitting on your floor, what does it look like idiot" I cringe at her attempt at sarcasm but I nod. "Pearl- can i get some help" i didnt actually need help i just wanted to get out of that awkward conversation.
"Okay- just coming." I heard pearls voice come closer. I can sense her disgust looking at the couple in front of us. "Oh- hello!" Pearls voice became distant as i headed into the back room bringing out my phone, which had 2 messages from an unknown number. I curiously opened the conversation.

Unknown: Meet me at TownStreet at the end of your shift
Unknown: dont let me down, peridot.

Peridot: how do you know me? And why should i go there?

Unknown: Im a friend of a friend. Meet me now!

I glance at the time realising that my shift had actually ended 5 minutes ago. I grab my coat and head out.
What am i getting myself into- i should be home, getting food and sleep. I turn the corner onto the street, looking around cautiously. I notice a tall figure with 5 other smaller figure. Shit- what is this?!
I walk closer.
"H-hello?" I dumbly question before getting popped in the head. I stumble back in pain, my vision getting black.
"Geez knock her out not kill her you idiot!" One of the voices spoke. I attempt to open my eyes but I'm in to much pain and my vision fades
