For the rest of our stay in New York, I had to stay in my hotel room due to a concussion. Turns out Sora punched me a lot harder then we thought. So I had to give instructions to one of the other managers so they could manage the stage.
But today, we were leaving for New Jersey. The doctor said it was fine for me to go but I still needed to take it easy when I got there.
Before the train had started moving, I was leaning against Jungkook. After I dramatically passed out in his arms he had been a lot more like the Jungkook I used to know. Not overly protective but kind and caring and more worried about me than whether or not I was going to date him.
"Hey Jungkook come here!" Once of the dancers called.
He grimaced, "Sorry Soorim, I've gotta..."
"Don't worry about me Jungkook, it's just a concussion, I'm not dying," I said.
"You say that like getting a concussion is a daily thing in your life," he joked.
"Need help? I can let her rest on me while you go talk with them," Taehyung's deep voice cut in.
I could feel Jungkook tense, but he sighed, switching places with Taehyung.
As the train started, I could feel a headache coming on.
I groaned.
Taehyung shifted a bit, helping me sit up, but still giving me his shoulder to lean on.
"I know what'll make you feel better. Did you know I have an elephant on my body? You wanna see it?" He asked innocently.
I choked on my spit, "Umm haha no that's okay, I don't need to."
"But it's on my arm look," he said.
He lifted my arm so that I was leaning on his chest and I could see his arm. I blushed because of the close contact but tried to focus on his arm.
He pinched the skin between two moles on his arm to reveal his 'elephant.'
I laughed, "That's stupid."
"Hey, don't insult my elephant!" He pouted.
I chuckled, leaning into his embrace.
He sighed, "Are you really okay? That day was really scary. I couldn't leave your side despite everyone telling me to go home and get rest for the interviews."
I placed a comforting hand on his fist, "I'm fine really."
He heaved, "We got in a pretty big fight because of it. That was our first big fight. Usually I just apologize in private to the person when she gets like that, but she took it way too far. So from the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry for her."
"Stop apologizing. It's really fine. I'm really fine,"
I assured. We arrived in New Jersey.
"Maybe a few of us should go with Soorim to set up to make sure she doesn't over exert herself," Taehyung suggested.
"Guys stop, I'm fine. Go sightsee and tell me about it okay," I pleaded.
"They can, but I'm coming no matter what," Taehyung insisted.
"Tae..."
"Not for you. I wanna get some extra practice in," he said.
I bit my lip, glancing towards Sora, but she wasn't paying attention. There was a distant look in her eyes.
"Okay, I guess," I agreed.
Jungkook had a jealous gaze in his eyes, but thankfully he kept his mouth shut. I was not in the mood to handle the two of them fighting.
Taehyung and I took one of the cars to the venue, silently looking over the beauty of New Jersey.
At the venue, I set up all the equipment and made sure everything was in order. Once I had done that, I had Taehyung go on stage to do a few sound checks and practice some blocking.
But something was off with him today. Usually during rehearsals he danced and sang at about fifty percent of his best to conserve energy. But today, during a rehearsal he was giving his one hundred and ten percent during a rehearsal. Let alone one where the rest of the group wasn't here.
"Tae that was good. You can take a break now if you want. We tested almost all of your songs and everything seemed fine," I said.
He was sweaty as hell and looked really tired.
"Really? Have we gone through that much? Hmm, I'm not satisfied with some things, but I'll go and do it in a practice room," he mumbled to himself.
"Tae maybe you should sit down for a bit. You're looking a little drained. I can go get you some water if you want," I said.
He shook his head, "No I'm fine. Perfectly fine. I'm gonna go practice."
And with that he staggered off of the stage.
"Mental care, I need you to go check up on him in a bit," I told one of the workers.
Time Skip
For the concerts everything went well, but something was really off about Taehyung was off. And everyone noticed it except his girlfriend.
He was a lot more tired after sets, he was practically stumbling when he came off of the stage, and he was a lot less playful after the shows were over.
"Maybe the witch poisoned him," someone snickered.
"That's not nice. I think something is really wrong with him. He was like this the other day too. He wouldn't stop practicing despite how exhausted he was. I tried to stop him, but he brushed me off every time," I sighed.
Taehyung was currently getting a massage from one of the managers, looking like he was gonna pass out.
We looked expectantly at Sora who was passing up with a towel in her hair.
"What are you staring at rat?" She spat.
"Are you not seeing your boyfriend?" I huffed.
She scoffed, "He's fine. I know him more than you, and he's perfectly fine. Especially in bed."
"Did I ask?" I shook my head in disapproval.
I turned to look back at Taehyung. How could she make such crude comments when he was like this? My heart ached for Taehyung
"Maybe he's been stress practicing again," one of the managers commented.
"Stress practicing?" I questioned.
"Whenever something happens that stresses Taehyung out too much, he copes by practicing too much and overexerting himself. He's done it a few times before," they explained.
Are you Taehyung? Are you stress practicing because of your fight? Because of me?
