Time Skip

And after that day, the rest was history. I was constantly going into the choreographer's personal studio to practice the dances almost everyday for about eight hours and then I'd spend the rest of the time with my parents. I couldn't hang out with the others after that day because they all had been dealing with MAMA and once MAMA was over, they were working on the end of the year music shows.

I had gone into the studio early to practice. As I mentioned a while ago, I was pretty good at picking up choreography quickly. It was a skill of mine that I took a while to hone in on.

The three songs that we were dancing to in the pre-encore segment were as follows:

"Ain't My Fault" by Zara Larsson was one group of dancers.

"I Want You to Freak" by Rak-Su was the other group of dancers

"In the Name of Love" by Bebe Rexha and Martin Garrix was a combined song.

The thing about Jungkook and I being centers was that we had to dance to all three. We were the main characters so to say of the story being told.

Each song had their own feel so it was essential to capture that.

I started dancing to "Ain't My Fault" first.

That song had to be done very intimately. It was seductive and tantalizing. The movements were very fast paced but they were meant to grab your attention from the first beat. The crowd's attention had to be on me from the first second and it couldn't leave me until the last beat. A lot of the dance involved me really feeling myself. I had to fully immerse myself in the alluring lyrics and submit myself to the seductive motions of my body.

The next song was "I Want You to Freak."

This song was more focused on Jungkook and his group of dancers, but I still had to be there because I was the center. This song had a bit more of a carefree party vibe to it. It was like a playful flirting song. My movements were mostly responses to Jungkook's movements, but they still had meaning and developed the story. It was literally that one club song where you meet someone and start hanging out together. A lot of my dance was just me swirling my hips and moving enticingly around Jungkook but when the beat drop happens, all hell breaks loose. I'm supposed to let my body freely hit each beat. It was truly one of those crazy fun party songs.

The final song was the combined one, "In the Name of Love."

This dance had to be my favorite. A lot of the dances were very ballet-esque and refreshing. I glided around the practice room, the graceful melody being conveyed through my delicate movements. But as the beat started to drop, the intensity started to pick up and you could feel the desire for love through each beat. This song had a lot of teamwork in it as many times I had to be lifted into the air by the other dancers or held by them as I did some crazy ballet move. Towards the end, the movements became a lot more desperate and needy so to say. Trying to convey that I would do anything in the name of love. It was so good. So good.

When I finished dancing someone started clapping.

"You're even better than I remember," the choreographer hummed.

"I'm sorry, I don't think we've met before this," I said.

She smiled, "Not officially. But I've seen you. I can't remember the hidden gem of ZS. You're Sierra of ZS."

I felt my heart stop.

"Nothing to be nervous about. You truly were a star in that group and it's sad that no one, not even your best friend or company could see. I make a lot of dances for Taehyung and Sora and when I see her perform, I just remember your greatness. You are and have always been very talented Soorim."

I got shy, "Ah thank you so much. It's nice to hear that from you."

She handed me a business card.

"Working with you these past few weeks has confirmed how talented you are. I actually am the CEO of this company as well, but as we're small, no one has really auditioned for our company. I know that all of the hate and the pressure was too much but I can see it in your eyes how much performing is more than just fame to you. If you were in it for fame, you wouldn't have walked away. There's a genuineness to your love of the arts and I'd love to debut you under my company."

I took the card from her observing the neat design. Was this it? Was I being given my shot? (Hamilton reference be like...)

"Thank you. I'll definitely look into it," I smiled.

The rest of the day, I continued to practice the choreography even though I probably didn't need to. I wanted to make sure I had it down. If I was going to return to the stage like this, the least I could do was make sure that I nail it.

After a while I headed over to Taehyung's company to go hang out with the stylists and some managers.

"Soorim!" They squealed when I arrived.

"How's our new dancer getting along?" One of them asked.

I gave a cheeky grin, "You'll just have to wait till Brazil."

We hung out for a bit and chatted before one of the stylists gasped.

"I have the perfect idea! You're going to break every single person!"

He grabbed my hand and pulled me into one of the styling rooms.

"I was looking at you and your new lovely long hair and thinking how I could change it up a bit and I found it. Get ready Kang Soorim. You're going blonde!"

While I was in ZS, I had never gotten to dye my hair. It was all about Sora. I had to maintain the cute image while she got to go wild.

The first time I dyed it was when I moved back to the states and dyed it black, so this was a new one for me. But it was too late to protest. He had already begun bleaching my roots.

So long healthy hair.

After a while the dye dried and I walked out a new woman.

"World, say hello to blonde Soorim!"

They all screamed.

"Soorim it looks so good on you!"

"She really looks like an idol now!"

"You're actually gorgeous Kang!"

I blushed at their compliments.

"Thanks guys."

"No need to be modest, tell us how you feel?" The stylist asked.

I grinned, "I feel ready to kick some butt. You better watch out, I'm Kang Soorim and I'm a double threat. With my stage managing skills and my moves, I'll clobber everyone."

"You're a triple threat doll! You can sing too!" A manager exclaimed.

I beamed. I was a triple threat. I thought back to the business card that the choreographer handed me.

Maybe Lena was right. I had dreams, and I would achieve them. And no one would stop me. Not Taehyung, not Jungkook, and definitely not Sora.
