A/N: In this fic you and Rex were childhood friends, but hadn't really seen each other since you moved away after high school.

Your POV:

You own a small bakery in the town you grew up in. You moved back to your hometown of Kamino because you enjoyed the simple life you had there before you went off to college in the city. It's not much, but you enjoy the work and it gets you enough funds to get by with a comfortable life. You've employed a few of your family friend's children, so you're usually the only adult around. But on this particular day, you were working by yourself. This wasn't really a problem because business wasn't exactly booming today. You had spent the majority of the morning trying to come up with new recipes for donuts, but you got stuck in a rut and decided to use your time for something else. You took this opportunity to start organizing some things in your cashier area.

You bend down to organize collapsed donut boxes underneath the counter, and after a few seconds of moving some things around, you hear a bell ring, signifying that a customer has just walked in.

You nearly hit your head on the counter on your way up to stand and greet the person who just walked in.

"Hello, welcome to Republic Bakery!" You say, dusting off your apron. Because of the sunlight shining into the bakery, you can't quite see the man's face. You do happen to see him jump a little bit in surprise though, and you wondered if you had flour all over your face or something. But the man walked a little closer to you, allowing you to see his face.

"(Y/N)? Is that you?" He says.

Your mind goes blank for a second. You feel like you've never seen this person before- he's so ripped and handsome. But after a few more seconds of studying his face, you realize who it is.

"Rex!" You exclaim happily. You walk around the counter towards him and give him a big hug, wrapping your arms around his neck. He's gotten a lot taller since the last time you saw him. He hugs you back, tightly, and you realize he's also gotten a lot stronger. "Where have you been?" You asked him, pulling away from the hug to look at him. You noticed you left a few spots of flour from your apron on his tight-fitting black t-shirt, and you reach out to dust him off a little. He gives you a light smile.

"Well, after we finished high school I went to coruscant to study criminal justice, and then I became a cop." He said. That would explain the muscles.

"Wow, that's awesome! What brings you back to Kamino?" You asked him.

His hand reaches to the back of his neck, allowing you to further admire his muscles from a different angle. "I got sick of the hustle and bustle of the city. Turns out Coruscant wasn't everything I wanted it to be, so I wanted to come back to my roots and move back here. Plus I heard there was a new bakery that popped up..." he said, smirking.

"Oh, ha ha. I'm sure there is zero word spreading about my little bakery in Kamino." You say, walking back around the counter to where you display the baked goods. "But since you're here at my humble establishment, I'll let you try whatever you want, free of charge."

"Oh, (Y/N), no. Let me pay you. I'm afraid if you offer me free food I'll take advantage of it." He said, reaching his hand into his pocket to take out his wallet. He brings his other hand to his chin, taking a closer look at the donuts to decide which one he wants. "I'll take... that one." He said, pointing at a donut with blue and white striped frosting.

You carefully took the best-looking one and handed it to him. He tried to hand you some money, but you refused to take it. He eagerly took a bite.

His reaction was a bit odd. He looked like he was really trying to enjoy the donut, but you could tell he didn't really like it. He looked at you and gave you a thumbs up. You laughed and said "I know they're not very good. That was a new recipe, I guess I'll have to make some changes."
