This story was requested by @SomethingSpace ! The story is set post-order 66 on Coruscant. I know in canon Captain Rex serves with the Empire for a few years but for the sake of this story he is not part of the Empire.

Also THANK YOU so much for over 1k reads!! That's seriously unbelievable. Thank you so much!!!

I hope you enjoy the story! Thank you for the request!

You woke up pretty early this morning, and strutting around your Coruscant apartment you thought about how excited you were to join the Rebellion. The Empire's residence on Coruscant lead you to want to help the few who were opposing it. You had made a friend a few days ago named Adolla who said she'd contact you within a few days for any small missions she could give you. You had a feeling today would be the day.

A few moments later your communicator started making some noise, and you clicked a button to reveal a hologram of Adolla.

"Hey, rookie." She said, putting her hand on her hip. "I've got your first assignment. It's not too crazy, so try not to get overwhelmed. I'm sending someone to you that you need to keep hidden from the Empire."

"May I ask why they need to be hidden?" You asked.

Adolla looked around her surroundings. Speaking in a lower tone, she said "He's a clone." You gasped. Weren't the clones part of the empire? They turned on the Jedi and slaughtered them! You thought. Your thoughts showed through your facial expression because Adolla started speaking again.

"But don't worry, he isn't like the others. He never turned on the Jedi. He's on the run from the Empire."

"Okay..." you said. "Anything else you can tell me?"

"His name is Captain Rex. He was a leader of the 501st legion with the Jedi Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano, but they're both gone. I hear he's pretty skilled, but shaken up after the whole... Jedi purge." Adolla said.

You nodded. "Thank you, Adolla. I will not let you and the rebellion down!"

"I expect good things from you, (Y/N). Check up with me once in a while if you need anything." And with that, the hologram disappeared, and the panic settled in.

You wondered what this clone would be like. Since you had seen first-hand what the clone army did to the Jedi from your apartment that was close to the Jedi temple, you were pretty skeptical of clones. It was insane how they could so quickly flip the switch on their Jedi generals and kill them.

You had been so deep in thought that you didn't notice the knocking at your door. You looked through the peephole to see a man in extremely dirtied clone armor with blue stripes and designs. He was looking at a piece of paper with your address on it- probably what Adolla gave him. He looked worried.

You opened the door and he straightened up. "Good morning, I am Captain Rex. (Y/N), is it? Adolla sent me." He said, trying to get the point across in as little words as possible.

"It is. Please, come in." You gestured for the clone to come into your apartment and you closed the door behind him, watching as he awkwardly walked around trying to figure out what to do.

"Have a seat, I'll make some tea." You said, quickly shuffling off to the kitchen. Out of the corner of your eye you could see him delicately placing his helmet on the table and sitting down on the couch with a long sigh. He leaned forward and put his head in his hands. He stayed that way until you returned to the living room with tea, and his head snapped up and he smiled in thanks as you handed him a mug. You took a seat on an armchair.

"Careful, it's hot." You said as he went in for a big sip. Though it was a little too late. He quickly realize the tea was far to hot to drink it at the pace he wanted, so his eyes bugged out and he spit out the tea.
