Famous AU: Part 2

At the request of @5tarwarsnerd , it had to be done.

Rex barged in the door as he normally did at this time of the day. You had begun to expect him almost daily at this point.

With a loud sigh he slumped onto your couch and removed his jacket.

"Rough day?" You asked him, making your way over.

He just gave a you a look that said it all. This man was exhausted.

It had been a couple of months since you and Rex met, and you have been officially boyfriend and girlfriend for almost as long. Every day was sure to be interesting as long as Rex had new things to talk about. His life was making yours more exciting, which was exactly what you needed. It was a lot of fun hiding from paparazzi. The public didn't really know who you were, or even that Rex "The Captain" was in a relationship at all, but that didn't really bother you. It didn't matter who knew as long as you were happy.

But Rex looked like there was something on his mind today, more than usual.

"So, there's this little... uh... how you say, red carpet event next weekend." He said. You sat down on the couch next to him.

"Oh yeah, just your typical run-of-the-mill extremely fancy event where rich people kiss the butts of other rich people." You said. He gave you a look of agreement.

"Yeah, and I want you to come with me."

"Like, with you, with you?" You asked.

"Only if you want to. If you're comfortable with it, I'd like the world to know about the woman I love." He said.

Woah, that's kind of a big step. Besides pictures of your back and some of your apartment from the first time you and Rex met, the public largely doesn't know anything about you. Only your close friends and family know that the two of you are an item. If you do this, your regular, boring life might change. Are you ready for that kind of change?

"I'd love to come with you." you said with assurance. "But I don't have anything to wear."

"Leave that to me." He said with a wink. "Now, who's going to beat me at reverse Rainbow Road?"

"I am." You said with a grin.

There was a knock at your door. Since this isn't the regular time Rex shows up, you wondered what it could be. You opened the door to a delivery man with a large box.

I didn't order anything, you thought.

"Delivery for... (Y/N)?" The man said.

"Uh, yeah... that's me." You said, still confused.

He handed you a clipboard and asked you to sign. You did so in a haze, and after a few minutes, the man was gone and you were left alone in your apartment with this large box.

Usually you like to play some games on what could in a box before you open it, but this time you genuinely had no guess. It was tall but relatively flat, almost like it could be a door. But that definitely wouldn't make any sense.

The suspense was killing you, and you had to open the box.

You cut through the tape with your keys, and started taking the item out of the box. Now it all made sense.

It was a dress. A fairly simple yet elegant one at that. It was very similar to a royal blue, and the color of it reminded you of Rex...

Of course. That's what he meant when he said to leave it to him. You had completely forgotten about getting a dress at all- thank goodness this showed up at your doorstep.
