Serenas POV
The day passed by quickly as the three of us enjoyed our time on the water. It was always that way, no matter the circumstances we could have fun as long as we were together.
We were currently in the car headed back home. Our skin had a thin layer of salt on it and turned into a darker shade of tan. My hair was messy and tousled from the wind blowing through it and I could still feel grains of sand around my ankles. To me, it was the best feeling in the world.
The radio blasted the entire ride back as we rolled all the windows down and took in the view of the sun setting leaving the sky a deep shade of orange. After I dropped Andre off I made my way towards Carmen's house which wasn't far.
"Hey S," she said in a questioning tone.
"What's up?" I kept my eyes on the road until we had reached our destination and I pulled into her driveway.
"I know you don't want to talk about Sophia so I'm just gonna say this once. I think you really like her and I know she really likes you. I don't know what happened with you guys on Thanksgiving but she must have really hurt you. As much as this pains me to say, maybe it's not the right time for you guys. Clearly, you and that chick from the restaurant today have something going on...you should think about it"
I just looked at her dumbfounded as to where this was all coming from. She must have picked up on my confusion because she chuckled and continued.
"I just want you to be happy S. You deserve it and as much as you refuse to admit it, I think deep down you know you could be happy with someone if you tried. No matter what I'll always be your best friend but just think about doing something for yourself for a change."
She leaned over kissing my cheek before opening the car door.
"Carmen" I called out causing her to turn back around and face me.
"I love you" she smiled at me and I returned the gesture.
"I love you too Serena"
-------------------------------------------
The week had gone by without anything major happening. It was Friday and I decided to throw a party tonight, mostly to give myself an excuse to get drunk....not that I needed one.
Things with Sophia were at an all-time low. She was still trying to contact me but I was refusing to answer. I had been kicked out of her class almost every day this week and I knew she was starting to get fed up with my bitchiness. I didn't blame her though... if it was any other teacher they would've had me suspended by now.
I was only acting this way to prove a point, at least that's what I had told myself. I assumed I would take it out on her for a couple of days and then realize I was being childish and fix things. That's not how it was going though.
The more time I spent away from her the harder it was to think of trying to mend our relationship. What she had said that night really got to me and I didn't know if I was ready to move on.
The sound of my doorbell pulled me out of my thoughts as I opened it revealing a very sexy Carmen.
"Hey bitch, you ready for tonight" she walked in slapping my ass and we headed to my room.
"Fuck yeah, this is exactly what I needed" I stood in my closet throwing on a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and a white tube top. My hair was in its usual waves and I had applied slightly more makeup than normal which only added to my look.
"Tell me about it, this week felt like it was never going to end, especially with you getting kicked out of Ms Models class every day. Seriously, Serena, I don't know how she hasn't punched you in the face by now" she said while laughing.
