~Chapter 23~

Darrys P.O.V-

I wasn't sure if I was mistaken but I am pretty sure I saw blood on Kaiya's stomach. I didn't question her about it because she would have told me if she had hurt herself. Right?

Kaiya ate her cake and said "This is so good."

I smiled "Thanks Kaiya."

Kaiya went to the fridge and took out a beer. The way she opened it seemed so angelic. It made it look as if beer wasn't a bad thing. She took a sip of it and she set it down. "I need a smoke." She went  out onto the porch and started to smoke.

I glared at Two-Bit "don't you ever pull up my girlfriends shirt again."

Two-Bit out his two hands in the air "Ok. dude calm down."

Ponyboy stared at me with cautious eyes and went out onto the porch with Kaiya.

Kaiya's P.O.V -

I lit the cigarette which kept me warm from the bitter morning air. The screen door creaked open and Ponyboy sat down beside me. He lit his cigarette and said "Darry really likes you."

I smiled "Yeah" ?

Ponyboy nodded "Yup. It would be nice to have you around here. You are staying, right" ?

I held the cigarette to my mouth and replied "I think it would be nice to be around here too. I might be a waitress or something ."

Ponyboy shivered as more wind blew in. "At the diner"?

I watched as my smoke flew away with the the wind "Yeah. I like diners. They have a nice vibe."

Ponyboy stared off into the distance "You want to know what I like"?

" sure. " I said.

"I like sunsets. Sunsets are beautiful and I think people should pay more attention to them."

I smiled "Did you like the sunsets in Australia" ?

Ponyboy grinned "Those were the best. It's nice there."

I nodded "I like the sunsets here too. There beautiful , don't you think"?

" Yeah but Australia's are better. " replied Ponyboy.

I stood up "Well I should get going. " I put the cigarette out with my shoe and winked at Ponyboy "I think it's cool that you like sunsets. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."

Ponyboy nodded "You dig okay, Kaiya."

I smiled as I went back inside. Darry saw me and said "How's the weather" ?

I nodded "Its a bit chilly but other than that it digs okay." I said trying to re mention what Ponyboy said. He sounded way cooler than me when he said it.

I went into my room real quick and opened a letter from my mom, 'Kaiya we are expecting you. Your brother and I. I can't write much because I am much too busy but we will talk when you have arrived. I love you so much, Your Mother. "

I didn't want to go back to Australia but then again I did.
