"If you follow the chains, you'll find her." She ignored his question, making him frown as he shifted his attention to the ground. He realized they were following the chains that were attached to the shackles on her wrists and ankles.
"Why are you helping me?"
"Now that she's snapped out of it and Shigarakis orders are void, the light is free for the taking and while I'd usually jump at the opportunity, being abducted and forced to be Overhauls lap dog gave me some time to think."
Kirishima's eyes widened slightly and he looked at the She-Devil in sympathy remembering the memories he had seen of her time with the villain. That's right...she was the one in the light...
"And I realized, what's the point of being free from the inside just to be locked away on the outside. Least here...i get more leg room."
Kirishima's frown deepened as they seemed to enter a city like setting. The silhouette of the skyscraper he had been told to avoid appeared in the distance.
"You're...done fighting...?"
The She-Devil kept her gaze forward never once looking at the male beside her. Though she didn't show it, she found it weird how he had followed her so naively. For all he could know, she was leading him to his doom but he trusted her. It annoyed her slightly, bringing her to a stop, also making Kirishima stop.
"Don't mistake my mercy, the only reason I haven't torn your throat out is because you're probably gonna be the last form of human contact I have for a while." The demon turned her head in the direction of the skyscraper, her eyes void and empty. "It's as you said, l don't care about freedom, so what's the point of fighting for it when I have no reason to fight for it." Her eyes seemed to flash with something akin to emotion which stunned Kirishima but as fast as it came, it was gone.
"I don't have any reason to take the light. I don't have family or friends. No one waiting for me, much less wanting me to come back."Kirishima stiffened, Is that how she feels... He found it odd how he was actually having a conversation with the monster everyone seemed to fear. He looked around at the chaotic and empty environment and as Kirishima listened to her, he couldn't help but realize how sad her world seemed. I don't blame her...for wanting to be in control...If I lived here I'd probably go insane too.
"Why should I keep fighting to come back when theres no one fighting for me to to come back. I have no home to return to...but she does." She states lowly, her back facing him.
"You're a really good human, Eijiro."
Kirishima felt his eyes widen at the fact she even knew his name. His heart began to pulse oddly and a feeling of nostalgia hit him.
"Thank you, Eijirou."
"How do you..." Kirishimas mouth parted in confusion, gazing at the girl whom had this weird yet knowing look as if she knew something he didn't.
"Me and her have been playing this same tune for a while and I'm done; done being a pawn in my fathers game. I'm done, fighting her."
Fighting her...? He thought. Isn't it the other way around?
"Let's go." She urged him forward and they made way silently to the skyscraper. The demon could sense the pro-hero nearby watching but she didn't care anymore. Besides with the state her human counter part was in, Kirishima wouldnt be able to get out this time on his own.
It didn't take long for them to finally be standing in front of the sky scraper, looking up at the tall building. They were silent for a moment before the demon spoke up.
