|Three Months until End of Spring|

I laid flat on my back, a frustrated expression on my features as my mentor flaunted the bells in her hand with a mocking smirk.

"You gonna lay there all day or are you gonna come and get your life back."

"What's the point, I'm already dead." I whined back.

"Fumetsu, you can't just give up." She sighed, causing me to push myself up with a huff. "We've been at this for months now, and I still can't even stop you from taking the bells." I raised my hand, letting tendrils muscle slither out. "And I still haven't mastered Muscular's quirk. I could  barely use bare minimum muscle to strengthen my arms and lower body. I was far from being able to turn into a big tank of muscle like Muscular could.

This is hopeless...

Regeneration had its perks but in the months that I've spent training with Mirko, I've realized a lot of flaws that I didn't notice before about my abilities, regeneration starts lacking if I'm relentlessly being injured. That's why I couldn't heal as fast after Izanami impaled me with that big ass sword...

"I told you already, you need to stop being afraid, stop fighting it."

"I'm not fighting anything." I hissed causing her to raise a brow.

"In the time that we've been training, you haven't used your voo doo doll quirk. You've been mainly using your brute strength and hand to hand combat abilities, but that can only go so far. This would go on much faster if you just faced him."

I stiffened at her suggestion and looked away. "Why would the human I ate alive wanna talk to the person who ate him."

"Because whether he likes it or not, he's apart of you. And if you wanna use his quirk you're gonna need to face him sooner or later, might as well get it out of the way now." She exclaimed.

I frowned at her response and begrudgingly cast her a glance knowing she was right. Releasing a heavy sigh, I straightened up and closed my eyes.

The tension in the air grew thick causing Mirko's eyes to narrow as she got into a fighting position, her ears twitching wildly. Now that's what I'm talking about.

"Nope, nothing." I shrugged, swiveling on my feet and going to walk away causing the woman to deadpan in annoyance.

I sweat dropped as her hand shot out, latching onto the back of my collar. "Oh no, you're not going anywhere. A war is coming in a few months and who wins is riding on you of all people. Like you, your classmates are training and preparing for this war, you need to be ready too."

"Yeah well, I'm not like them!"

Mirko's eyes widened as the horned girl looked over her shoulder with a glare. "Comparing a bunch of humans who can't even imagine what I've been through is an insult. I've barely just started at actually wanting to become a hero and the fate of humanity is riding on me already?! I'm not even human for Kami's sake, why do I have to be the savior of mankind!"

Despite my laidback nature during my encounter with Wraith at suicide forest, I was the opposite.

"Because it's what heroes do, you're not the only one who's gonna be out there on that field, you won't be alone. Even if you were, it's a heroes job to protect, whether their alone or not."

Mirko released her hold on me and dropped her hand with a frown. "Do you even want to be a hero, Hana?"

My cyan eyes widened slightly before they faltered and I looked a way. Being a hero was one thing but wanting to be one was another.
