Kurt opened his eyes slowly, looking around the room confused. It was midnight. Why was he awake? Then, he heard whimpering, it was coming from behind him. He stood up and saw (Y/n) twitching and whimpering.

"(Y-y/n)?"

He didn't want to wake her up, but didn't want her to suffer through another nightmare. He placed his hand on her back and slowly shook her, awaiting a response. Her eyes shot open and she sat up in her bed, clutching his arm and panting heavily. It took her a minute, but she let go of him and caught her breath.

"Th-thank you... thank you, Kurt."

"For what?"

"Waking me up. Jaedon never does..."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Are you alright?"

"I am now."

She moved her legs off the edge of the bed, looking around the room. She chuckled to herself and looked back at Kurt.

"You know... I'm not tired..."

"Really?"

"Yeah, maybe it's because you woke me up."

Kurt smiled slightly to himself as (Y/n) went to grab a jacket.

"C'mon, let's go on an adventure."

"Ad-adventure? We really shouldn't."

"If we get caught, just teleport back."

He looked to the side as he contemplated what to do. After a minute of thinking, he nodded and (Y/n) smiled, nearly dragging him out of the room as she ran out. They walked quietly through the halls before reaching the front doors which were locked. (Y/n) smirked to Kurt as she pointed at the door. He nodded and teleported them both outside. The two of them roamed the forest near the school. As they roamed, they stumbled across a small lake nearby, so they sat next to it, dipping their feet in the water. They spent a majority of their time in silence, but a strangely comfortable one. They both felt very comfortable with each other which Kurt loved, much better than the hate she initially held for him.

"Y'know Kurt, I'm really glad you woke me up. I haven't felt this relaxed in a long time."

"Well, I'm glad I could help."

"I feel really calm around you, Kurt."

"I feel good around you too, (Y/n)."

(Y/n) smirked a little and looked into the water, standing slowly; Kurt standing with her.

"Can you swim?"

"Y-yeah, why?"

(Y/n) grabbed him and pulled him into the water with her. They fell in and laughed together, swimming around and splashing each other as if they were kids playing in a pool. Eventually, they walked out, shivering because it was freezing. They laid down on the grass just looking up at the stars and talking.

"Y'know, this was fun."

"It was." He laughed softly to himself.

(Y/n) turned on her side to face him, "I have a weird question for you."

"O-okay, what is it?"

"Why are you here with me?"

"What... what do you mean?"

"I could've killed you, aren't you scared of me?"

"Not at all. You didn't have control and you didn't kill me. I'm a blue mutant that can teleport whenever and almost anywhere he wants, aren't you scared?"
