After Kurt and (Y/n) spent their time together, they headed back to the school. Once they got there, (Y/n) went to apologize to Jaedon, but he wasn't in his room, she assumed he was out and left it there. Kurt went to his room and (Y/n) to hers. She dropped in her bed and smiled to herself thinking about the time she spent with Kurt. After the day went by, Jaedon returned to his room. (Y/n) thought about how to approach him. She needed to apologize for a lot of things, but what she said was not one of them. She did mean it, in a sense anyway. She didn't want to lose her best friend, but he needed to be far less possessive of her. She took a deep breath and walked to his room, knocking lightly. He answered and immediately frowned, staring at her with fire in his eyes.

"What do you want?"

"I want to talk."

He nodded and let her in. She took a deep breath and faced him nervously.

"First, I want to apologize. I didn't communicate and there are so many better ways I could've told you and I chose the worst way."

Jaedon simply nodded along, waiting to hear her out.

"Second, I did... kinda mean what I said. You're my best friend and you've always been there for me, but you've gotten a little possessive and... controlling. I know you don't mean to be, but it comes off that way. Don't get me wrong; I love you and all that you've done for me... but I don't need all of that anymore."

Jaedon blinked a few times and looked to the floor, he opened his mouth to speak, but his words died in his throat.

"I don't want to lose my best friend... I just don't want him to worry about me every second of every day."

"I understand... I guess it's just me being overly cautious. I'm also sorry. I never realized how stressful that could be on someone."

"Still best friends?" (Y/n) extended her hand to him, waiting for his response. He nodded and shook her hand, smiling, "Still best friends."

From then on, things went much smoother. Jaedon spent less time obsessing over (Y/n) and more time hanging out with Peter and Penny. (Y/n) felt much better knowing that if she needed him, Jaedon was there, but he wasn't obsessing anymore. She also started to spend more time with Kurt, taking full advantage of being able to teleport to their own little hideaway in the forest for stolen moments in time. Of course, when they wanted to, everyone came to hang out at the lake. Something Hank was quite opposed to, but let it go with time, understanding just what it meant to this little group of friends. (Y/n) still got her nightmares, but not nearly as much. And when she got them, Kurt was right there to calm her down. After about a week, Charles finally showed up to assist (Y/n) with her troubles, something she didn't have much of any more thanks to her friends and sometimes Hank. Charles traveled the halls for a bit before going to (Y/n)'s wing to talk to her. He knocked on her door, slightly surprised to see her and Kurt in the same room.

"Oh, Charles, hi."

"Hello (Y/n), hello Kurt. I've heard many positive things about you and your condition. Tell me how you've been."

"Well, I suppose you were right, I've been much better since arriving, even with a couple incidents... But other than those I've been great."

Charles smirked slightly as he looked up at (Y/n), knowing he was right.

"What's that look for Charles?"

"I just knew that you needed time in the right environment with the right people."

He looked over and nodded to Kurt. He cleared his throat and looked back up at (Y/n).

"My only concern is that you're not training."
