“Hello,” she hand me the chips. “Sige, dad. What time?” daddy niya. Siguro ay tungkol sa party. “We’ll be there. Okay, bye. Love you.” She ended the call.
“Si dad. Bukas na daw yung party, 8pm. Sa Shangri-La at the Fort ang venue. Gosh! So hindi to basta family party lang. If I’m not mistaken, nandoon din ang ibang investors niya sa company,” she bite a chip. But this once seems so different.
I’ll invite Sam, Farah and Raya as well. Tsaka ‘wag ka kabhan. Nandun naman si Gael.” She said. We stayed there for another 30 minutes watching Netflix when the doorbell rang. It’s already quarter to 5.
“Hi,” si Gael. Holding 2 boxes of pizza, fries and milk tea. “I bought food,” he smiled. I opened the door enough for him to go in with the foods.
“Wow!
“Nah, bumabawi.” He hugged me and I welcomed it with my warms hugs as well. “I love you,” he whispered.
“I love you too,” I replied as I pinch his cheeks.
He sat beside me on the other corner of the sofa. “Ano ginawa mo kaninang umaga? You didn’t reply on my texts,” I asked while eating fries.
“I slept. Bumawi ng tulog, babe. Sorry,”
“It’s okay.” I smiled.
We continue eating while watching movies. Since we’re already full hindi na kami nagluto ng hapunan dahil ang dami na rin naman noong dinalang pagkain ni Gael.
“Tomorrow’s the party babe. I’ll pick both of you up here,” he said while playing on my hair. I feel so sleepy because of that.
“Hmm. Sino sino kaya pupunta dun?” I asked.
“Family and some investors, I guess.”
“What do you think he’s up to?” singit ni Debi.
“I don’t know either.” Gael shrugged. I was just carefully listening.
“How’s the status of the company?” si Deb.
“It was good. The sales are going well, iyon nga lang ay hindi na tumataas ulit. If it doesn’t go smoothly within the following months, baka malugi ang company if they will not be able to meet the sales last year.”
“Are they selling new phones or other gadgets this year?”
“I heard they’re looking up on that. But I didn’t know if it will be launch this year, may be next year, I guess.”
“And kapag next year, graduate ka na non. Don’t you think sa’yo ibibigay ni lolo ‘yun?”
“Hindi ako agad bibigyan ng ganoon katas na trabaho if ever I’ll work on the company. Unless, lolo will put his trust on me.”
