"Linzie's hands were held back by her brother, his sickening grin etched into her mind as her lungs supplied scream after scream. The pain made her feel like she was losing her mind, and in a way, she was. Her mother made sloppy work of the barbering shears in her calloused hands, the metal clawing against the meat surrounding Linzie's left eye. Fruitlessly, she tried to jerk away from her assailants, screams becoming little more than choked sobs as her consciousness warped from being aware of everything, and rendering her numb. The chain that bounded her legs and neck dug into her flesh, drawing a red that matched her vision, and no matter how much she pleaded, how much she begged, they never stopped. The pain never stopped.
"She didn't know when it happened, she didn't even know how she - weak little Linzie - managed to make mangled messes of her family members. The shears in her hands were decorated in blood, as was she, and the wounds dressing her body had seemingly cured themselves. She didn't know if she was breathing. She couldn't be alive. She couldn't have done something like this. Her head whipped around at the sound of familiar heavy footsteps, lip quivering at the sight of her father. Horror. His face showed nothing but complete and utter horror.
"He took a step back, near tripping over his own two feet as his eyes surveyed the room in frenzied glances of dread. Linzie's body shook uncontrollably as tears began to prick at her eye. She wanted to puke. Her eye felt cold, but it wasn't due to the breeze circling her emptied socket. Something felt like it was leaking out of her right eye, and she didn't know if she could call it tears. Her father's eyes widened more than she thought ever possible, and he pressed against the wall as if it would protect him from the thing she felt herself becoming.
"'Don't hurt me! Please, don't hurt me,' he pleaded.
"She moved without knowing, turning to him in a weird, mechanical motion. 'Do you remember what you said when you hurt me?' Her tone was cold, eerily so, and just as her body moved without her knowing, so did her mouth. 'You said nothing. You heard me beg and scream, and you said nothing.' She snapped the shears twice and started trotting over to the cowering man, unflinching as a choked out scream filled the air.
"'No, don't hurt him! Linzie, please!' Her mother's voice was beyond weak, and a part of Linzie was surprised that the woman was still kicking. She was sure she'd slit her throat. Maybe she hadn't cut deep enough. "Linzie turned to her and scoffed, eye holding a swell of malice and bitter, unabashed hatred. 'The name's Lz to you, bitch.' With those words, she lunged at her father, pulling his clothes and effectively getting him belly first onto the floor. Power surged through her with fervour, allowing her to dig the shears into his back, and break the very bones of his spine. He wasn't dead yet, but he had long since fallen unconscious, and a part of Linzie wanted to scream or do anything to make herself stop. To make no more blood appear on her guilty, vile hands.
"Moving on its own, her body went to her mother, opened the shears wide, and with the same power used to tear into her father's body, it sliced her head clean. 'Now back to you, traitor.' She towered over her father, and a sick, demented smile played on her possessed lips. She began cutting his body in half starting from the crotch area, the smile never fading as more and more blood got revealed to her as she made her way up."
"Geez, Clara, that was dark," Luciano said softly, a mix of amusement and boredom on her features. She looked up from the book and glanced over to an anxious Clara sitting beside her. "It's good, I like it, just don't turn it into a porno." Luci snickered softly as Clara blushed slightly.
"S-so, what do you do for a living? I never asked before." Clara stuttered a bit, looking more relaxed now than before.
"Well, I'm a writer, but that's just a hobby for me, I also do a bit of uh," Luci paused as she racked her brain for another job she had. "Oh, dancing is another one!" Of course, she wasn't going to tell her that she was an assassin. That knowledge's too dangerous for her, Quinn and their family.
"So, what else do you want to do? I'm not exactly well-versed in hanging out." That much was obvious.
"I dunno." She didn't want to do anything besides finish her book, but she couldn't use that as an excuse. Clara would still pester her about everything and anything. Sighing and scratching her neck, Luci looked between her book and Clara.
"We can get food," Clara offered. "It'll be fun!"
"Fine," she huffed. The bonus of Clara doing puppy eyes and promising food made her agree because she was too lazy to cook.
In truth, this whole interaction was a way for Quinn to distract Luci into not going to his school and fucking up his spiteful professor, she knew what he was doing and let it work. For now.
"Okay, so, where do we go?" Clara whipped out her phone, scrolling through all of the listed restaurants, looking over at Luci every two or so choices. "Do you have a preference? Seafood? Chinese? Italian?"
Luci shrugged. "Chinese, I guess."
Clara made a face, one that Luci couldn't ignore. "Do you not like Chinese?" The teen shook her head hesitantly.
"I don't love it, but it's not like I hate it."
"Then do you have a preference?" Clara shook her head, causing Luci to sighed exasperatedly. "How about Mexican? I haven't had tacos in a while." Another face. "Fine, we can have Italian. Spaghetti wouldn't be too bad." Clara frowned for a millisecond, yet Luci had somehow caught it. "For heaven's sake!" Grumbling, Luci hopped up from the couch, book in hand, and began stomping over to the stairs. "Eat whatever's in the kitchen, and no, I wouldn't want any of it." Luci had no problem with starving, not that she needed food anyway.
