this is also a super long chapter. sorry!!

Both of them. In one night. No tears. Who's next? Carl? Daryl? What did your mom mean when she said everything will be okay? This is certainly not okay. How are you gonna go on now? What is life gonna be like without your two best friends? The two people who felt like older brothers?

You sat in shock. Your knees to your chest. Negan ran his mouth some more and picked Rick up and through him in the RV. They were gone for hours. When they returned, Rick looked defeated, and tired. He was covered in blood.

Shortly after Rick and Negan returned, the Saviors left. They took Daryl too. That's just what they had to do, huh? You still sat, knees to chest. No one had seen you like this before. No one knew what to do.

Maggie's pov

I looked over at y/n, who was trembling. She sat up straight, with her knees to her chest, and her arms wrapped around her legs. She was sweating profusely. I  couldn't blame her, I was too. Glenn, he was gone. Our baby would be fatherless. It would have no one to teach it the things a father should teach. Maybe Rick? Or Aron? Jesus, even? No. No one could be as good a father as Glenn would. What are we gonna do now?

I walked over to y/n, who was now being cradled by Carl. I put my hand on her shoulder and looked her straight in the eyes

"They're not gonna get away with this" I said "They'll be dead soon enough" She looked at me, and this light grew in her eyes, this glow that I've never seen before

"They already are" she said, the trembles vanishing. Her normal 'y/n' look reappeared. She gained back her color, and the constant sweating stopped. She looked like she had just returned from a long jog, or maybe a hike. She looked as though she didn't just witness two of her favorite people left get beaten to death. It had to have been hard for her, yet she doesn't cry. Ever. I wish I could be like her. I wish I didn't cry. I wonder how she does it.

carls pov

As I held y/n, I felt several hot tears roll down my cheeks. I've known Glenn since the beginning. He didn't deserve this. Neither did Abraham. Maggie walked over to us and told y/n that the Saviors wouldn't get away with this and said they'd be dead soon enough

"They already are" y/n said, plain as day, as though nothing just happened. I felt her stop trembling. Her sweat stained my shirt. I couldn't blame her for sweating so much. The girl doesn't cry, she has to do something.

your pov

After Maggie talked to you, you began to feel okay. You still had this urge to run into the forest and scream at the top of your lungs. And that's just what you were gonna do

"I need to take a walk or something" you said, releasing yourself from Carl's tight, but loving grip

"O-oh" Carl stuttered "Do you want me to come with you? They took our guns I-"

"No, I'll be fine. I have my knife" you said

"Please just.. be careful, for me?" he asked

"Always" you said, attempting a smirk

"I love you, always" Carl said, pecking your lips

"Always" you repeated, accomplishing the smirk you had attempted just moments before

You began walking towards the woods. You felt everyone's eyes on you as you marched into the dewy green plants. You got deeper into the woods and you felt this lump grow in your throat that could leap out at any moment
