Chapter 3

"Hey" he said standing up, putting his hand out for you to shake. You grabbed it gently but he squeezed and shook it "I'm Carl" he said

     You gave him a smirk as you took your hand away. You looked at the brown haired girl sitting in front of the tree reading a comic. You walked over to her and stuck your hand out. She looked at you and then looked back at her comic.

"Okay... Um, do you guys wanna show me around?" you asked

"Sure" Carl said "That's Enid by the way" he said nodding his head toward her

"Hi" you said innocently. Once again, she just looked at you and looked away

"Let's go" Carl said

     You guys walked around a little bit and make small talk.

"So, y/n, how did you get here?" Carl  asked

"Um, I got shot by one of your people, then he brought me here and Denise helped me" you said 

"That sounds like fun" he said "Where are you staying?" he asked

"With Ron's family" you said smirking at Ron

"That's cool" he said "Can I introduce you to some of my people?" he asked. Just as you were about to answer you heard someone yell 

"Ron! I need some help, come here!" you looked over and saw Jessie standing on the porch yelling at Ron

"Okay! You guys go on, I'll see you later, y/n" he said walking over to Jessie

"Well, sure. Show me your people" you said chuckling

"C'mon, lets go" he said reaching his hand out. 

     You gladly excepted the hot boys hand and he led you a few streets away.  When you finally stopped, he took his hand away and began walking up the stairs to a house. He looked at you and nudged for you to come with him. You walked up the stairs and followed him into the house. When you walked in, you saw a tall, lean man with a good build standing in the kitchen. He had long, curly hair with a little bit of stubble on his chin. He was holding an adorable little girl.

"Dad, this is y/n. She's new here" he said

"Hello" he said coolly "I'm Rick, this is Judith" he said motioning her towards you.

"Oh my goodness she's so adorable, can I hold her?" you asked

"Of course" he said walking over to you. You grabbed her and instantly fell in love with her adorable little eyes.

"Carl, where's your mom?" you asked. Both Rick and Carl looked at their feet. You instantly felt awful.

"Oh... I'm so sorry... I didn't kn-" 

"No, it's okay. She died giving birth to Judith" Carl said "I- I had to shoot her before she turned"

"My mom and unborn sister got eaten by the dead right in front of me, s-so I kinda know how you feel... like, a little" you said making a sign with your fingers implying a "little" with the hand that wasn't holding Judith

"That's so terrible, y/n. When was this?" Rick asked

"About a week ago" you said

"How are you not still crying?" Carl asked "I was a wreck for weeks"

"I don't cry anymore" you said sitting down at the table with Judith in your lap, then realizing it was rude to do so. "Oh, I'm sorry, I should've asked to sit down" you said standing up

"No, no. It's okay" Rick said chuckling "You are holding my kid" he added

"Sit back down" Carl said. You giggled and did as he said. You began to play with Judith as Rick and Carl laughed at how she giggled at you. Suddenly, a dark skinned woman with dreads walked in.

"Carl, who's this?" she asked

"I'm y/n" you said standing, putting Judith on your hip and sticking your hand out for her to shake "I'm new here" you added as she took your hand

"Michone" she said
