This is a Liam× reader story.
Beacon Hills was an abnormal place with a non hunter human population count of only Stiles Stilinski, kind of like how Mystic Falls is a supernatural location with the only exception of Matt Donovan.

I reached into my backpack and removed my calendar. Yes, my last week was almost up. Deaton had said I had one week at most, which meant I probably had five days. Three of those days were gone.
I sat on the bench in the corner staring at Liam and Hayden. My chest tightened, but I couldn't look away. Why couldn't I just be happy for him? I wondered if that was how Damon felt when he had to see Stefan and Elena together. They had just finished kissing and rested their foreheads together.
"It hurts, doesn't it?" Stiles said.
"Yes. It hurts a lot." I looked over to Lydia who was on the phone with her boyfriend. This was how Stiles felt. "I guess we're both getting hurt by staying here." He acknowledged. Stiles put his arm around my shoulder, hugging me. I sighed and leaned my head on his shoulder.
"At least we have each other." He said, trying to be optimistic. I looked at him and smiled sadly.
"Yes. At least we have each other." We sat in silence, my head resting on his shoulder.
"Are you going to tell me what happened in those tunnels?"
"What?" How did he know I was lying?
"I am the master of lying. You think I don't know when someone is lying right to my face?"
I chuckled. The sound of it sent shivers down my spine. It sounded unnatural and empty.
"I had to make sure everyone got out of there, so I stayed last, then the rubble started falling down, and I was holding on to Hayden's hand, and then, the Dread Doctors ran their walking stick through my heart." I suddenly stopped speaking and felt tears threatening to leave my eyes.
"Then what? Y/N, you can tell me."
"Stiles, it's nothing." Stiles rolled his eyes and I sighed.
"As long as you don't go all overprotective mode and tell everyone."
"No promises there, but you're going to tell me." I sighed and turned to him. "Hayden let go. I'm not sure if she couldn't hold on, or if she was afraid the Dread Doctors were going to get her too, but she let go." He looked incredulous.
"Why didn't you tell anyone?"
"I don't even know if it was her fault, or if she already thought I was dead. And Liam doesn't need to know. He's happy with Hayden."
"Y/N, he likes you. He doesn't have to be happy with her. He can be happy with you."
"No, Stiles. If he's happy, I'm happy."
"That is the most stupid thing I've ever heard come out of your mouth." I laughed, but once again, it sounded empty.
"I know, that was so stupid and cliche. I didn't mean it." I said. "Are you hungry?" I asked, revealing the mound of sugary stuff that I had brought.
